The bread is mediocre, but the dishes are excellent. We've eaten there five times over two trips and never left dissatisfied. Pretty extensive menu of traditional Tuscan fare, really nicely prepared. Lots of wines, but the inexpensive table Chianti was fine.

We stayed in the beautiful town of San Polo in Chianti for nine days and ate at la Paglietta four of those nights! The owner and staff, the food, and the beautiful restaurant all contributed to a very enjoyable dining experience. We even cut back on our touring a bit to fit in a private pizza lesson with Aldo and his son Marco that was amongst the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended! :-)

This restaurant was a drive from our villa in Chianti and recommended to us by our host. They have a great local menu. I loved the wild boar pasta and my wife who is a vegetarian was delighted with the selection. The Zucchini cappaccio is an absolute knock out and they do a daily specials list. The wine list is so reasonable we always managed 2 bottles. Funny, most people love the Pizza but I thought it was a little dry..But try it. We ended up eating here few times and loved it each time. The staff are friendly and efficient and appreciate your feedback. Sit on the terrace, relax and enjoy the fading Tuscan sun in the evening and think 'I really am in Italy'.

Restaurant - La-Paglietta - San Polo in Chianti - Italy
Aldo ( the owner ) and his staff Roberto and Michael were really enthusiastic and helpful - the food - we selected was absolutely delicious - Excellent, simple and really great value. The Red house wine recommended by Roberto - smooth and very very more-ish.. A really great enjoyable dining experience not to be missed. Highly recommended.

Hello there,

thanks for your review, we're happy you enjoyed our house wine, a 'rosso di montepulciano' that comes from my hometown...
Hope to see you again!

p.s. the waiter name was Marco, not Michael :)
