average food unexciting menu. over priced steak but massive portions. Would I eat there again - no. I went for the Haggis and Cheese nachos, the portion size was far too large and to be honest the dish was not the most exciting, yes its Haggis and Cheese two of my favourite things but just way to peppery and fatty. If your watching your weight avoid at all costs. Main course was the special of the day which was two very bland sea bass fillets drowned in a non entity sauce with a tower of mash and some steamed veg, including turnip, which was for me the highlight of my meal. My partner had chicken smothered in some sticky sweet sauce with a blue cheese sauce just to confuse the pallette and she followed this by a huge cut of pork served with the same non entity sauce. Portion size was immense, but was really just trying to make up for uninspiring menu. The pub/clubhouse next door is run by the same owners and offers asimilar menu sightly cheaper. Sad really as with such a high footfall of golfers you wôuld have thought it could have all been so much better.

When staying in the Ugadale Cottages we ate in both the Old Clubhouse and Kintyre Club.

The Kintyre is slightly more up market and both the food and wine menus are extensive and varied. Portion sizes are generous and the food was very tasty and well presented. The only slight disappointment was that two of us ordered the chicken stir fry and the chicken was simply placed on the top of the stir fry and not cooked in the sauce. We passed on our comments to the waitress although it did not detract from an otherwise excellent meal.

Same company as the Club House next door so we guessed the portions would-be big.
I chose the chicken and chorizo pasta, was delicious and a massive portion. No way I could finish it. Other half had the gammon steak, very tasty fresh pineapple slices and a big pile of yummy mash.
Great views.

Whilst part of the hotel it was not a formal hotel restaurant so more relaxing. Lovely views to golf club, nice decor and the food was good and good value.

Stayed and played golf in glorious sunshine. Menu and wine list very good, lots of variety to suit all tastes. Recommend mussels, which are excellent.
