These guys have retained good quality on basics while reducing costs by cutting out frills and extras that you often don’t need. Our room was small but clean with a comfortable mattress. Bathroom was in good repair, free parking usually close to the room. No noise from nearby Agoura road. Very friendly staff. When I say “no frills” I mean only 2 pillows, hair dryer available room front desk instead of in room, smaller TV screen than usual, no microwave or fridge, no extra chairs. This may sound sparse, but the cost is about one quarter to one third of other hotels in the area.
Lots of eateries nearby, Right out the door are scenic drives through the Santa Monica Mountains to the Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, etc. Hollywood, LAX are within 30-40 miles.

Room Tip: No elevators; if stairs are a problem ask for the first floor, Parking spaces are very small; if you have a large car head for the back,

I stayed at the hotel in July 2013 and had an extremely comfortable and pleasant stay. The exterior décor is nicely designed (2 story) with a large car park. The inner courtyard is very attractive, a lovely garden area with beautiful well established trees and a good size pool area with both shade and sunny spots. The pool is ADA compliant. The pleasant hotel design is complemented by a warm welcome from all hotel staff. Every staff member made eye contact and offered a greeting and a smile. My room was very spacious and the bathroom includes a large tub. The hotel offers a high standard in housekeeping and amenities are available either in the room or at the front desk. Good location and neighborohood within walking distance to grocery/drug store, food outlets and close to local restaurants. I would definitely recommend Good Nite Inn Calabasas to anyone traveling on a budget.

I stayed at the Good Nite Inn - Calabasas almost exactly one year ago and was impressed. As a result, I stayed again, and was even more impressed; impressed enough to bump it up to five stars.
Keep in mind that for $61 a night in the extremely pricey San Fernando Valley, excellence is relative. But here is what you need to know:
-The room was immaculate
-The bed was clean and comfortable.
-Bathroom worked fine.
-A/C worked fine.
-Staff was friendly.

What else does one need? Did I mention that I paid $61 on Hotwire for this room? Yes, the room is small and the decor is dated, but...if that stuff matters to you, spend more and go elsewhere.

You are simply not going to do better at this price point in the Valley. Keep up the great work! See you next time!

I read mixed reviews about this hotel so was a little wary when I arrived, especially when checking in at a similar time as a slightly strange, scary looking guy -- it would be helpful if the staff was more discreet about what room each person is staying (e.g., writing down the room number and not saying it out loud).

Most of the other people staying at the property seemed very friendly and with family, though I ran into slightly strange characters a few times.

I stayed in an upstairs room facing the inner courtyard, in the same building as the office (building parallel to Agoura Rd). The room was actually quite comfortable, and it was very clear that the cleaning lady had taken good care of the room. The mini-fridge in the room was a pleasant and very welcome surprise. Towels, soap, shampoo, and a couple of plastic cups provided. Coffee/tea in lobby in the morning. Everything was in decent working order, and there were many (satellite?) TV channels.

The only minuses were small pieces of hair in the comforter, a bath towel with very rough texture, and lack of free wifi.
