My wife and I, along with a friend, hiked here during our three-day stay in Calistoga. The trails are well-marked, and the map park staff provided us with was very helpful. We hiked on a Thursday, so there were very few people around, but I imagine it gets crowded on weekends. It was a hot day (90 degrees) but the hike was mostly shaded so the heat was not much of an issue. We did just under 7 miles, and covered most of the trails in the park. My only "complaint" (and it's a very mild one!) is that there is no view from the highest point in the park. Rather, you do get somewhat of an expansive view a few minutes before actually reaching the peak. We had a great day out in the trees and shade! Do note that my wife spotted poison oak around, so be mindful where you step.
