Owner description: Located in beautiful Napa Valley wine country, Bothe-Napa Valley offers year-round camping for tents, RVs, bikes, walk-ins and now YURTS! Day visitors enjoy picnicking, hiking trails and a seasonal swimming pool. Large picnic grounds are available for group events. Stop in at our Visitor Center in the 1860s Tucker House, and learn about the park's first homestead families - trail maps available. Hikes range from easy, shady strolls in the redwoods to longer hikes up to Coyote Peak with great views of the valley. Or, take a hike on the History Trail past the historic Pioneer Cemetery and on to our sister park, the Bale Grist Mill, where you can take a tour of an operating water powered mill built in 1846 that still grinds grain on the original stones!

“Great place to camp”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

We tent camped here for two days in the summer. It's right off a busy road, but the campsites are in an area that is peaceful and quiet. Nature surrounds you here, including some redwood groves. There are several trails for hiking and on weekends you can walk down the hill and swim in the pool. Each campsite has a recycling bin, something I really appreciated. The bathrooms were also clean and had plenty of toilet paper, something unusual in our experience.

“Those are BIG trees”
Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

We had an hour to kill before our next vineyard appointment and found the state park and decided to take a drive through the park. It's $8 per car and we'll worth the trip. We drove the loop and stopped out to take pictures. These trees are probably babies but still the largest I have ever seen. Probably 200 feet tall and wide enough to fit a car. Fun for the hour. Good memory.

“First Yurting Trip”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

I'm a visual person so I always look for pictures when researching locations to stay. I hope these pictures can help anyone.

When doing my research I couldn't find much information on the pool besides it being open seasonally on weekends, but its actually open Fri-Mon for the Season. They have a lifeguard on duty and a lot of pool toys you can borrow.

This was our first time camping in a Yurt and it was a great experience. They have 3 Yurts that can accommodate 6 people Max #22, 24, 26. They also have 7 Yurts that can accommodate up to 5 people #1-7(these have up to 3 cots and only 1 car per Yurt). Yurts come with a queen bed and mattress you can also set up to 4 cots and they have a picnic table and benches inside. On the outside there is a food cabinet that can store a lot of items. First car is included in reservation and second car pays $8 a day fee.

You can purchase wood from the camp hosts for $8 a box. Very generous on amount of wood in box. You can pick whichever you want/need. They work on an honor system if host is not present. You just put $8 in jar. They have newspaper and kindling available.

There are beautiful trails that are a must. Be cautious as there is a lot of poison oak, everywhere not only on trails.

Will definitely try and go up to Calistoga to camp again!
