“Amazing mud bath”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Just experienced the mud bath, mineral jacuzzi and blanket wrap- it was so relaxing and Quinn made us feel very comfortable and at ease. Highly recommend this place. The grounds were clean and the staff was friendly!

Room Tip: We did not stay at the hotel but it looked very clean with welcoming staff.

We had booked a mud bath, massage and facial for two before leaving home. We went on a Monday so we got the whole thing for 500$ .The spa is not as aesthetically appealing as other spas we have been to. The carpet was thread bare, no lockers, basic rooms. We went for the mudbaths,we had neverdone. There were 2 troughs full of peat moss mixed with the natural spring water. We soaked in for about 12 mins, drank cold water and had a cold compress on our forehead. Then we showered the mud off, sat in a Jacuzzi filled with natural spring water followed by the body wrap.Everything smells of sulfur so beware. The mudbath room could have been a bit more appealing with nice walls and floors- but it was gray cement.Reminded me of a garage. Our facial and massage that followed were nice. This was a once in a lifetime experience.I wanted to see what a mudbath was like.It was fun laying in squishy soft mud.If you are squeamish- this is not for you.If you want the plush spa surroundings with greenery ,lovely changing areas, lockers, cool marble - this is not for you.The front desk was very very basic- almost motel like. They were checking in spa guests and hotel guests at the same time.Oh, since there were no lockers- we had to carry all our clothes, purses etc from room to room. That was very annoying indeed.

My husband and I booked the room with a couples Spa Retreat, including Mud bath. The room we had was very comfortable, even the pillows, clean and they even left little candies in a dish to enjoy, also FREE bottled water.
The mud bath experience was our first and we found it very enjoyable and the assistant was professional and made us feel very comfortable.
After the mud bath we swam in the pool and had dinner later that night in town.
I would highly recommend this hotel and it's spa experience.

Room Tip: From what I seen I don't think you could get a bad room.

My sister an I went to Golden Haven for a spa day and we were not disappointed. WOW!! what a wonderful experience. So relaxing!! We did the mud bath and this was our 1st time doing one and we loved it!! When I come back to visit my sister again we will be making an appointment to do it again. The service is wonderful, our attendant Michelle was AMAZING!!!! She walked us through what we were about to do, put this wonderful mask on our face and made sure we had a cold compress the entire time. We felt very well attended. The front staff was very friendly as well. They welcomed us right away and offered the most delicious cucumber water I have ever had. We didn't have to wait long before we went back and started this wonderful experience. We felt so invigorated and refreshed when we left there. It was so cleansing to our skin and the toxins in our bodies. I would HIGHLY recommend this wonderful establishment to everyone!! The mud bath is a must!!!

Made reservations a few months in advance and was able to find a discount on their site which was nice. We paid $114 for each of us, for a mud bath, mineral bath, cool down room, and then massage, not bad if you ask me. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which made us feel comfortable since you are naked most of the time you are here haha. The mud bath was a neat experience not something I feel I need to do again but you gotta try it once. Once you slide into your mud bath the woman helping you comes back in a helps cover you up the rest of the way. I understand why you do not want to be drunk, having all the wineries in the area, and then do a mud bath because it get very warm. You are only in the mud bath 20 minutes or so and trust me that is more than enough time. During the mud bath the staff put a cold compress on your forehead and then a nice cooling face mask. Once your mud bath time is up you then go over the shower and rinse off, you will have mud everywhere trust but it thats what makes this kind of romantic :) Once you get the mud of it is then time for the warm mineral bath, they offer ice cold cucomber water to drink which is really refreshing. Then you robe up and its off to the cool down room. You are wrapped up in blankets and they play nice calming music and you just lay down a relax. Then it was time for our massage. After the massage you are then offered a room where you can take a quick shower and dress. Overall just an amazing spa experience would totally come back or recommend this place to anyone staying in the area!!

Napa Valley accommodations can be expensive, especially on weekends. Golden Havens always has special deals that give you a large, comfortable room and a spa treatment for two. the spa option can be either a mud bath, mineral water soak, and blanket wrap OR the herbal wrap. The grounds have really improved over the years with ping-pong, pool table, bean bag toss, full bocce court, and a hammock, set among stone pathways and lots of flower color. Hit up the local supermarket for some gourmet take-out, Peet's coffee, or some cheeses to go with your wine.

Room Tip: If you have kids or another traveler with you, ask for a room with an extra bed, it's usually in...

It is older, but when you think about it they do pipe the hot water in directly from the mineral springs. However, we had a great time. The grounds were beautiful. There is a covered pool with hot tub. We stayed in a room with a sauna and really enjoyed that. The room is spacious and we slept very well. We had booked the Ultimate from their website which included a nights stay with couples mud bath and massages. The baths were great and we only wished we could have stayed in longer. It really felt like we weren't in there for any time at all. Then we shower off and are moved to soak in the mineral waters. Once we are done there we slip on robes and head to cool down. This was amazing. So serene and restful. Our attendant was AMAZING! After the cool down we went for our massages. The only complaint with the massages is they did not do deep tissue and for those that enjoy pressure of the massage versus just a 'rub down' you may be a little disappointed. We probably would not do the massage next time, but I still give excellent because it was wonderful. That night we sat outside by the fire pit and slept like babies!
