We spent 4 nights at the Roman Spa. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The grounds are gorgeous--beautiful flowers, lots of tables with umbrellas, an ice chest outside the pool to keep your drinks cold, BBQ's and great pools. The temperature in each one is great. We so enjoyed being able to sit outside in the morning with coffee and at the end of the day with a glass of wine. The hotel is a short walk to shops and restaurants, which is great if you have a drink--no car needed. They have put a lot of thought into making your stay comfortable!

Room Tip: Some rooms have windows in bathroom, making it lighter.

We greatly appreciate your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit with us and were able to fully enjoy both the Roman Spa and Calistoga by staying 4 nights. Indeed, a stay of that length or longer allows for full relaxation and enjoyment of our weather, the pools, and really getting into the "vacation" mode. We also greatly appreciate that you recognized many of the "little touches" we provide that make a difference in your overall experience. We continually strive to enhance the guest experience with yearly updates and added features.

We look forward to serving you again in the near future.

My boyfriend and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary. What I loved about this place was it was literally just around the corner from downtown (we guessed it had to be about 1000 feet from all the restaurants and bars), and how relaxing and comfortable everything was. We ended up going to the spa and had a mud bath followed by a mineral bath. Sabrina was very sweet and very professional. We had a room all the way near the back by the spa, so it was nice and quiet. We will definitely be staying here again :).

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room, ask to be put near the back by the spa. The rooms near the pool can get no...

My husband and I were looking for a quiet vacation spot in Calistoga and we found it at the Roman Spa. This hotel is nestled in the Northern most part of Napa Valley, a short walk to town and all your amenities, boutique shopping, excellent restaurants and a grocery store that carries all of your needs in the event you booked a room with a kitchen as we did! The BBQ area had top of the line gas grills with plenty of room for several families. Although we didn't use the free shuttle it certainly was nice to know that we could have taken the shuttle to winery's and intend on doing just that when we return for another relaxing vacation. Our Spa experience at the Roman Spa, was also fantastic, mud, mineral and massage and my husband and I were able to share the experience together. The staff are very friendly and professional, the grounds are kept immaculate and the three pools, all mineral pools, were kept very well. We will be back and thank you for a wonderful time!

Room Tip: If you want a room by the pool you aren't going to sleep as well as you would if you chose any o...

Stacie,
I'm so glad that the Roman Spa hit the mark for you and your husband. Indeed, the shuttle you mentioned is a very nice feature which is complimentary for hotel guests and can take you to different wineries, restaurants, or anywhere in-between if you decide you don't want to walk or drive.
We look forward to serving you on your next visit and thank you for taking the time to write such kind words.

Room Tip: Not advisable for small children.

Thank you for your kind review. Indeed, our Valley is a wonderful place for a relaxing vacation and soaking in pure geothermal water is the best!
As a fan of Pacific Grove, I appreciate your enjoyment of our weather as a getaway from your fog which is also very pleasing.
Thank you for your loyalty to the Roman Spa, we are greatly appreciative!

We recently spent a night at Roman Spa Hot Springs Resort, relaxing in the pools the first day and getting a wonderful massage in the morning. I can't wait to return! My boyfriend, sister and I had rooms facing the pool, with a garden between the pool and our rooms. Upon arriving, the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculate, with the most comfortable beds and pillows. Of course, we had brought a bottle of wine with us, and we found the best wine glasses in the room, complete with thumb indentations, so we wouldn't drop them. We filled them and took the wine into the pool and spent a relaxing afternoon floating, soaking and imbibing (not too much...). The resort is a half block away from Lincoln Ave, the main downtown street, and all the restaurants. Since we were on vacation from stress (including the stress of driving), we left our car and walked to dinner, then walked back. A lovely dinner and then a relaxing time on an outdoor sofa by the pool. And then a great sleep on one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in.

In the morning, we found organic coffee and fantastic blackberry muffins at a coffee house across the street, and got ready for our massages. Since our massage ended at 11, and checkout time was 11, we asked for a little extra time, and we were cheerfully given until noon, which was all we needed. We all had amazing massages at the spa, cleaned up and were on our way. I want to go back...

Sharon,
What a wonderful review! We are so happy to know your experience exceeded your expectations. As a small boutique property of 60 rooms, we strive to provide those "extras" such as the wine glasses, noodles at the pool, an ice cooler to chill white wine or other beverages outside the pool, umbrellas in the winter...... little details that enhance each guest experience.
Thank you again and we look forward to serving you again in the near future.

I brought my group of 10 girlfriends for our 18th annual trip to Calistoga to the Roman Spa for the first time. They all agreed to keep this hotel as our new spot. We love that it is a very short walk to town. The farmers market is just across the street and not to be missed...Saturday morning. The grounds are as beautiful as a botanical garden and the rooms don't disapoint. The beds are very comfortable, nice kitchen and BBQ area. Very clean and friendly staff.

Thank you for your kind comments. We are so glad that your girlfriend group enjoyed their stay, and honored that we have become your "new spot." Calistoga has so much to offer, concerts in the park during the summer, farmers market, outdoor dining, wonderful biking opportunities; the list just goes on and on.
We look forward to serving you again on your next visit.

An Amazing experience from time of arrival to departure. The rooms and grounds are of the highest standards. The staff throughout are helpful, quiet and very polite. The pools are clean and extremely well cared for, the water just perfect in the varying temperatures. What an absolutely perfect get away. I will return time and again. Thank you for the experience.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the main pool area. We were in the 30's just perfect.
