My fiance and I had a three night stay here to kick of my 30th birthday and words cannot describe how wonderful our experience was. The people, the pool & spa, the food... all worth it. We were looking for something not overrun with Napa tourists, and this place was a great find!

This was our first time staying here, and Richard and Kurt (and their adorable pup Sparky) are very welcoming to EVERYONE who stays here, from the regulars to the newbies like us. We enjoyed having breakfast on the deck of the main building listening to the birds sing and taking in the pretty views. The food was fresh and tasty and well portioned. The pool area is large yet still feels intimate... with plenty of deck lounge chairs for everyone to find a spot. The pool is also 24 hours, so we took advantage of some late evening hot tubbing and then cooling off in the pool.

We were definitely on the younger side of the guests who stay here (we're 30 & 31), but we're planning on making this place a regular retreat for the two of us for years to come!

Room Tip: We had the Pond Room. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. It has a mostly private patio with a litt...

Meadowlark Inn is the best B&B on the planet. Wait, I take that back. It is the best B&B in the known universe! Everything you could ask for - and more - is provided. The grounds are stunning, beautifully landscaped and includes various roses and fruit trees. Numerous trails are available to hike and the views are fantastic. Only a short drive to many excellent restaurants and exceptional wineries but it is situated as if you were miles from anywhere.

It is a working horse ranch and while we were there two mares were about to give birth and we watched the most beautiful 1-year old colt gallop freely about one of the large paddocks. It has its own henhouse providing fresh organic eggs. There is an aviary for song birds and we saw hawks and numerous wild song birds.

The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable - with good Wi-Fi and Internet connection available. Then there is the spa area. Fed by a natural hot spring, it is beautifully laid out, with a large swimming pool, sauna, hot tub and massage room.

But I saved the best for last. The breakfasts, organic ingredients, are without a doubt the best we've EVER had - and I've had a lot of breakfasts over a lot of years. Just amazing and we'd go there just for it. The breakfasts also offer the opportunity to meet and chat with the charming and personable owners of Meadowlark, Richard and Kurt. Friendly and open we learned a great deal about the history of Meadowlark. Kurt is a great story teller and after one breakfast we stayed for 2 hours listening and laughing at his great stories.

Words and tons of adjectives can never adequately describe Meadowlark - it has to be visited to experience the serenity, peace and beauty. It is truly a one-of-a-kind B&B and it has moved to the top of our list of places to get away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. We look forward to our next visit; from the beauty of the land, to the breakfasts, and storytelling.

Although the rooms were a little dated, the overall experience here was wonderful. Our hosts were extremely friendly; the breakfast was the best I've had in a B&B, in part due to the fresh eggs and herbs; and the views were very relaxing. The pool area is huge, with a great sauna and hot tub located at one end. My wife and I will definitely return soon!

We are known as Meadowlark Country House on 20 acres in teh Napa Valley which is an area of agriculture. We never intended to make our rooms look like any of the commercial lodging establishments such as Marriot, Hilton, etc. The charm of Meadowalrk is coming to an elegant, sophisiticated country house on a Napa Valley country estate. We do see the rooms as dated--they are in character. The website shows pictures of all the rooms so the guests can see what to expect.
But, as the guests said, my wife and I will definitely return soon. Thank you, we are looking forward to having you here at Meadowlark again.

The best B-and-B experience we’ve ever had. I visited with my wife as a birthday treat and enjoyed a perfect vacation, thanks to hosts Kurt and Richard. Great food, spacious room (they upgraded us to beautiful room #4 - thanks again Richard!), gorgeous garden and pool area. It was incredibly enjoyable and relaxing. The hosts could not make one feel more welcome. Both Kurt and Richard eat breakfast with the guests which turn into hour long enjoyable, enlightening, casual conversations. Many thanks to Kurt and Richard for a great trip. We highly recommend Meadowlark Country House and will return as soon as we can. A bonus - right around the corner from laid back Calistoga. Stay here, not in Sonoma or Napa!

My husband and I have been visiting bed-and-breakfasts for years and our stay at Meadowlark was, by far, the most enjoyable experience to date.

The setting and views are stunning; our room (complete with a private wrap-around porch) was perfection; Richard's breakfasts were nothing short of gourmet (which reminds me that he owes me a recipe!) and our hosts, Richard and Kurt, were absolutely charming.

It was such an enjoyable experience that we truly didn't want to check out! We can't wait to visit our new friends Richard and Kurt again very soon!

Room Tip: We were in room 4, which had a spacious sitting room, as well as a private wrap-around porch.

The Meadowlark Country House is a destination in and of itself. The owners are delightful, courteous, generous and the ultimate and continental gentlemen hosts. Rooms are generously appointed. Breakfasts exquisite. Conversation with Richard and Kurt and other guests around the large dining table are intriguing, fun, and informative. You would be hard pressed to find the ambiance of Meadowlark elsewhere. If you are hesitating on booking, don't hesitate a second longer because it is like coming home to be at the Meadowlark.

Room Tip: Just ask Richard and he will help choose the right room for you.

Have stayed here three times with my wife and dog. The property is beautiful and absolutely relaxing. The rooms are huge and luxurious, several with big outdoor decks that are incredible in the spring/summer/fall, and beautifully appointed. Kurt and Richard are great hosts and it's always fun having breakfast with them and exchanging stories. We can't say enough good things about Meadowlark. It's a phenomenal value also, prices are very reasonable for the quality. Very dog friendly. Not a place for kids (but leave them with the grandparents and it's a great escape from them!).

Room Tip: Love #2 upstairs.
