I can't think of a better spot to unwind and enjoy a peaceful escape from the frantic pace we all seem to live in these days. At Meadowlark Country House you're treated as an honored guest by the ever gracious Kurt and Richard. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very relaxing. The Jacuzzi tub and separate shower in our room with a private deck created a great opportunity to rekindle romance and invited quiet reflections, conversations and more... . Breakfast is 1st class.. a dish of mixed granola and cereal to munch on while you awaited perfect eggs benedict (prepared by Richard with the hollandaise sauce was the best I've ever had) on Saturday and shirred eggs and ham on Sunday. Fresh apple juice and fruit accompanied the plates, and of course a pot of fresh coffee. Conversation with the other guest as well as with our hosts made you feel like you were part of an intimate group of friends. Everyone was relaxed and friendly. The grounds are english country wild and perfect for the setting.. with friendly animals and lot's of special spots to sit and enjoy the flowers, ponds and plants. The clothing optional pool and spa were also relaxed and created a European feel. I can't think of a better spot to spend a lazy week or weekend ..it's a short drive to either Napa or Sonoma..and if you want to see something special just ask Kurt or Richard for suggestions ...they know the area inside and out! We originally came for just one night but once we got settled ..I didn't want to leave, so we spent a 2nd night.. I'd keep doing it , but work calls...:-( Come see this gem for yourselves and have a "Meadowlark" experience. We've been coming for years and the experience is always the same wonderful one.. and we don't want to leave.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Garden room (the smallest but still perfect) .. I've also stayed in Suite #1 an...

I wanted my 50th birthday to be special and staying at Meadowlark was perfect. We were in the pool house and it had everything we needed and we could walk right out our door to the hot tub and pool area. The property is so inviting with great gardens and I loved visiting the horses each day. Our hosts were friendly, gracious and made beautiful breakfasts each morning. It was a great location for visiting wineries and if we weren't at wineries we were sitting by the lovely pool. It was bliss and I can't wait to go back.

After an amazing, although somewhat solitary, visit in January we wanted to come back "in season" to see if we enjoyed it as much. Well, it was better than we could have hoped for. Being there with other people really heightened the experience. The pool era is exsquisit with lounges and umbrellas for everyone. Everyone was friendly and engaging, no pretense anywhere. We met people from Oregon, Minnesota, Connecticut and SoCal and add amazing conversations with all of them. And, as always, Richard and Kurt were the best hosts one could hope for. They engaged all the guests and were a part of the social scene of the resort. Richard prepares amazing breakfasts; his eggs benedict are awesome. We also got to see a new born foal which they delivered a few days before our arrival. They love their horses. And Sparky is a kick also. We will definitely return

Of all of the places I've traveled to and plan to return, this is the only one for which the hotel is my primary reason for wanting to revisit. For us, the Meadowlark Country Inn is a destination in itself. The rooms and common areas of the house are beautiful and comfortable. Far larger than we expected. The pool and spa are the perfect place to relax. Breakfast each morning was beyond all expectations. Kurt and Richard were so much fun to spend time with, we seldom left the breakfast table until it was almost time for lunch. The grounds and gardens are large and perfectly manicured with majestic oak trees and innumerable plants and flowers. While we were there, one of their horses delivered a colt. The barn was open for us to see and pet the day old colt. Kurt and Richard, we will be back to see you soon. K and R, congratulations again on your anniversary and enjoy your wine.

Meadowlark Country House is a very special refuge for relaxation and rejuvenation. Kurt and Richard are excellent hosts, providing attentiveness and unobtrusive wisdom about exploring the wine country area. Their suggestions for restaurants were superb.

The lodging and grounds were inviting and sophisticatedly unpretentious. I had beautiful swims in the tree surrounded pool. It was a great stay.

Everything physical about Meadowlark exceeded our expectations: the rooms, the common areas, the gardens, the grounds, the breakfasts, the pool area. Beyond these physical aspects, the most gratifying aspects of Meadowlark were the utter peace and contentment felt just taking in the beauty of the place, complemented by attentive, open, positive, and stimulating conversations with the owners, Kurt and Richard, and other guests. We enjoyed our two-day stay so much that we returned a week later for another two-day stay, and enjoyed it even more.
