“It's just ok for me now”
Reviewed 14 March 2013

This place used to be epic when it was Matt's Hamburgers and even the original owners of Home Plate were good at cooking greasy spoon food. This place is still ok for milkshakes and occasionally you can get a decent burger and fries, but they have become pretty much a perveyor of lower quality food and cater to more of a fast food lovers pallate. The fried chicken was especially disapointing.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 19 August 2012

Needed an inexpensive place for lunch while visiting this area. From the outside, it looked like a nice sit-down restaurant. Once inside, saw it was like a fast-food place. Smelled greasy and if husband had not been very hungry, would have left. He had the hamburger and fries- while he said were good. Fries were kinda overdone. I had the homemade veggie burger. It was weird looking - kinda like vegetable hash patty with lettuce & tomatoes. the buns were good. The iced tea and pepsi were served in small styofoam cups. It was $16 for this small meal - I won't be back here, will try someplace in downtown Calistoga first. the booths are small too and I felt cramped .

“Great family feel and terrific food”
Reviewed 16 June 2012

We stopped on the way out of town for lunch, and really enjoyed this place. It was being run by (I think) a brother and sister--him doing the cooking and her taking orders. They shared serving. It was busy, but they kept their cools like a couple of pros! We both had juicy, delicious cheeseburger, fries that were really crips and delicious, and BJ had a double scoop of their amazing ice cream for dessert--yum! The place is very plain, but clean, and has a nice family feel and was super friendly.

“Never dissapointed !”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

I have been coming here occasionally for over 10 years and have never once been dissatisfied with my order or my service. The employees are always friendly and the food is always great. Their chef salads, burgers and especially hand made milkshakes with almost every flavor ice cream have kept me coming back all these years !

“Not worth it and no AMEX”
Reviewed 19 November 2011

Mary's does not take American Express, the chicken was way overcooked, had to wait because there was only a staff of two, one cook and one cashier.
