Casa Lana Bed & Breakfast

Had a fabulous stay at CasaLana this past August. Took the 5 day cooking class and stayed upstairs in the B&B during our time there. The class was excellent. I do quite a bit of cooking, but really learned a lot from Lana and felt that she tailored her class well to the student's interests. The room was very clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed during our stay. The breakfasts were delicious and had great variety - especially loved the scones that Lana made for us. The location was a nice walk to downtown Calistoga and was very quiet and relaxing. Lana was a great host - she had good recommendations for local wineries and was available to answer our questions. Would highly recommend to others!

Our first visit to Napa. Found Casa Lana a perfect respite at the end of very active days in Napa, touring, wine tasting, dining. Lana is a very charming hostess, with excellent recommendations for wineries and restaurants. Breakfast was very good. Garden setting lovely. Nice walk through pretty neighborhood to downtown Calistoga. We stayed in downstairs bedroom. A bit small, but bathroom very spacious. Separate entrance nice.

Casalana is a very beautiful place to stay! The accommodations were so cozy and the owner, Lana was very gracious and cooked an awesome breakfast every morning! She is a wealth of information when looking for places to see and good food to eat! My husband and I will be back and would like to take a cooking class-the kitchen is to die for!

I traveled alone for my mini vacation (given to me by my husband). He knows I love to cook and love Napa Valley so he searched out the perfect mini vacation for me! He booked me at CasaLana B&B where I truly enjoyed the solice and cooking adventure. Lana is great-both as a cooking instructer and B&B host. I would go back there any time and recommend this to anyone who would like a relaxing get-away.

Casa Lana is in a tranquil residential neighborhood a few minutes walk from downtown, so we didn't need to drive much during our stay. Lana's recommendations for dining, spa treatments, and wine tasting were all excellent. We could hear some cooking lessons in the afternoon, which sounded like fun and didn't bother us. Breakfast was delicious -- chicken-apple sausages with fruit and yogurt the first morning and with an egg/veggie scramble and bagels the next morning -- and served on the beautiful patio overlooking the herb garden and riverbank.

My daughter and I signed up for the week long cooking class and also stayed at Casa Lana. We had a fabulous time and loved our entire vist. We booked the Palisades room on the second floor of Lana's beautiful home. It has a separate entrance off the deck and the bedroom had beautiful windows on 3 sides that allowed the sun light to stream in. unfortunately, we had 3 days of rain while we there but the room was lovely nonetheless. THere was an extremely large ensuite bathroom with lots of cupboard space, plenty of extra towels and linens and a small fridge which was great for wine and cheese etc. The property is located at the end of a very quiet street adjacent to the Napa River so you could hear the water rushing in the stream at night. it was so soothing. at this time of year, there is not much blooming in the gardens but I could tell that it would be beautiful in the spring and summer.

we thoroughly enjoyed our cooking classes. Lana was very organized and gave excellent instructions . She was informative without being intimidating. We went on two wine tastings accompanied with Lana and one private wine tasting that Lana arranged for us. all of them were outstanding but the visit to Chalk Hill Estates was beyond comparison. The wineyards were breathtaking and after a tour of the estate, we had a wonderful 3 course food and wine pairing. the sommelier and chef were so gracious and informative. it was the most amazing way to end our last day in the Napa/Sonoma area.

we would have no hestiation in recommending Casa Lana as a B & B or the cooking classes which are offered separately. This holiday not only lived up to our expectations but exceeded them. Lana is a gracious host with lots of tips and recommendations for places to see and dine. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

The cooking course was very informative with great quality food. Lana has a well supplied and organised kitchen. The wine tasting that she oragnised was excellent at Beringer. Lana's knowledge of the area was also very helpful. The location is great for a quiet relaxed break, being right next to the Napa River and in a quieter residential area. The room was clean and comfortable with lots of space, well equipped for all your day to day needs.
For a lone traveller it was tough that many places close at 5pm, that includes all the wineries and my only choice was a restaurant or a bar.
