We stayed 3 nights at the Wine Way Inn in Calistoga and as an overall experience, we had a fantastic time. We had a few minor issues but would not let them deter us from having a great time. The home is located on Route 29 and even though this is a sleepy little town outside the hustle and bustle of Napa, it is a major road connecting Calistoga to other cities and was a bit busier than we would have preferred. The first night, the road noise was a bit distracting, but after that it did not bother us nearly as much.

We stayed in the Lokoya room, which was as lovely in person as it was in the photos I saw online. In other reviews I heard some not pleased with it being the first room at the front of the house but after speaking with Nick on the phone, he reassured me that it was a great selection. I was not a fan of it being in the front of the house, but we were only there to sleep and ultimately it did not bother us. I would have probably selected the Silverado instead, but since we did not see/stay in that room, I cannot say if it would have been better there (which is right off the kitchen/dining area).

The one thing that did bother us was the noise from upstairs. Whoever occupied the room above us (one person on night 1 and a different person(s) on night 3) was very noisy when simply walking around. Thumping can be expected in beautiful older homes like this, but is not really pleasant at 2 am. Again, the first night bothered us more than any other night there and would not weigh heavily on our experience at the Inn. (and this is a gripe I have with the person who was upstairs making the noise so late... certainly not the owner's fault)

Now... the food is simply AMAZING. We had different meals each morning and it was a pleasure being introduced to new foods in a lovely setting. We chose to eat outdoors each day in the beautiful gardens (great weather too) but the sunroom was an equally delightful view.

And in response to others complaining about the innkeepers, we had minimal interaction with Nick and Gillian but we preferred being left to our own devices. They were available for questions or issues and we needed nothing more than that.

Overall, our experience at Wine Way Inn and Calistoga was wonderful. We would definitely recommend the inn to others staying here (but perhaps bring earplugs or plan on staying on the 2nd floor).

Room Tip: Consider upstairs/back of house for less street (or guest) noise.

Just spent two very relaxing and fun days up in Calistoga at the Wine Way Inn. Great location as it is just steps away from the main street which has many restaurants and shops.

Gillian's breakfasts are delicious and we looked forward to the surprise of what she would create and serve each morning.

In the evenings there was wine in the main living room where we would relax and read before dinner in Calistoga.

Each room is very well appointed and unique. Tough to say which room to select as they each have their own charms.

Many very good wineries In the area to visit during the day.

Thank you Nick and Gillian!

Nice and clean room. The breakfast well put together in a very nice historic room. Good WiFi connection. Great location.
it could be noisy in the morning as it is right in front of intersection of two main roads with a Stop sign right there . Breakfast is only served between 8:30 and 9:30 if u like to sleep can be an issue. Our room was small. No TV in the building (no issue for us but it could be for some). One small refrigerator is shared by all guest.

My fiance and I stayed at the Wine Way Inn for Easter Weekend to do a bit of wedding planning for a September wedding in Calistoga. We stayed at the beautifully renovated Silverado room, which was very comfortable, spacious, and clean! The bathroom was spectacular, with a large double-head shower and gleaming clawfoot tub, and beautiful tile throughout. Breakfast both mornings was delicious, particularly the homemade granola, spiced apples, cowboy breakfast beans, and bread pudding! We bought the recipe book to try to recreate some of these yummy dishes for home.

The Wine Way Inn has a lot of great outdoor seating for breakfast, although the indoor breakfast room was quite cozy. Both inns also have very comfortable common dens/seating areas, with evening wine and sherry for pre-/post- dinner chatting. This inn is so inviting, and conveniently located, but most of all the innkeepers are such lovely, welcoming people. Gillian and Nick allowed us to preview the other rooms in the Wine Way and Craftsman Inn, as we are booking them for our family and wedding guests. We're so excited to host our families here, and we look forward to returning again in the summer!

Room Tip: The Silverado room in the Wine Way Inn is spacious, with a king size bed, large modern flat-screen TV, cozy fireplace, and beautiful large bathroom with an amazing shower. Highly recommended.

Easy walking distance into all of Calistoga - right next door to a great BBQ - and the B&B breakfast was truly grommet. Bed was quit nice, the evening wine was a nice relaxing touch, outside patio was a nice place to sit and enjoy the wine, conversation, and the outdoors, parking was OK for most cars (don't bring a RV or monster truck though). We were in the Silverado room with was large with king size bed and large bathroom with easy 1st floor access. - No real complaints.

Room Tip: Choose bed size you want, then room size - if you want 1st floor there are 2 available - if you want to be isolated there is one 'cottage' but it is up several flights upstairs.
