“Most Fun Tour in Napa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2012

We did the full tour of the castle, and it was totally worth it. The price seems steep, but the castle is so impressive, and you get to see so much of it during the tour. Plus, we got to do a barrel tasting, which was an experience that is rare. The tour ends with a five wine tasting per person with generous pours. This was a beautiful place to visit, and we liked the wine a lot too.

“Nice castle”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2012

Definitely not a highlight on our trip. Poor tour guide who rushed us through the castle to get to the tasting room where his whole objective was to sell us their poor to average tasting wine. The most information we received from Nicciolo was everything built in the castle was from Tuscany, they don't crush the skins and seeds when making the reds making a better wine than every other vineyard in the valley and that you buy wine as an investment - buy it and let it sit for years and then sell it for a bigger profit. He told our group that all wine will taste great, no matter how long it has been in the bottle. Nice castle to see, but disappointing experience.

“Don't miss this winery!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2012

Well worth the time and money-no where like it in Napa! Good wine, amazing atmosphere! We did the self-giuded tour because we were short on time. Would do the entire tour if we were to go back.

“Very nice place to visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2012

This place is awesome to visit especially if you like architectural type stuff. The stonework is just amazing. We took the tour which took us down into the wine cellars which go about 3 floors underground. I am an amateur photographer that likes to take pictures of unusual scenery and I was able to get some awesome photos of the wine cellar. The tour guide was also very good and entertaining and provided lots of information regarding the history of the castle. The only thing that could have been better was at the end of our tour when we did the wine tasting. Our guide hardly paid any attention to us and spent more time with the others who appeared to be more avid wine drinkers than us.

“No need for a time machine! Marvelous Medieval Madness!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2012

My husband and I visited this incredible place on our 10 year anniversary trip. I don't even have the words to say how absolutely AMAZING this castle truly is! After we took our tour, we spent MOST of the rest of our day here, exploring the labyrinth of rooms, hidden courtyards, dungeons and secret passageways! We took the premium tour with wine tasting, and let me tell you, it is worth every penny! The tour guides are extensively knowledgeable about the history, design, materials, and all other aspects of the castle. They are also fun and very charming, to boot! They obviously love their jobs, and I have to say, who wouldn't love to work all day, every day in an absolute fairytale?

I am telling you, this place is an absolute MUST SEE! We will be going back again as soon as possible and will take our children to experience the rich history as well!

TIP: While the above ground Castle has enough to see for hours of exploring, you must not miss the guided tour as this takes you into the dungeons and Grand Ballroom/Barrel Room! I promise you, it is worth every penny!
