“I like it in Winter”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

We were there yesterday, so the "dead of winter." That meant it was raining some of the time and a little cool. While there was almost no one there (for example, we were all alone in the massage waiting room and the lockers), I think this should be the high season. The hills are so green in winter, the trees are covered in moss, and it's lovely to wade in the warm mineral pool while cool sprinkles of water fall lightly on your head. We had the most delicious lunch at their restaurant, then enjoyed a massage (perfect), a mud bath (a great couples experience), a soak in a tub, the spa chair with music (very ergo), then a soak in their mineral water pool. Very romantic, lovely afternoon. The service is also perfect; if you want someone, they're there. If you don't, they're not. The rooms are gorgeous, secluded, quiet, luxurious, and romantic. They know their stuff. Rarely do I stay someplace for a night and a spa visit and have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Everything was great.

Room Tip: We didn't hear a single peep from another guest from our room. In fact, I don't think we ev...

We are repeat visitors to this most wonderful property in wine country. It is in a great location
between the wonderful city of St. Helena and Calistoga. The rooms are all separate bungalows
with a contemporary feel. Everything is provided to make the stay so comfortable and luxurious.
We love the beautiful look of the property, the fabulous pool, the spa is my favorite in the country and two bikes are provided to ride to Calistoga to shop or eat. It is just so much fun! To top it off, there is a wonderful restaurant! We wouldn't miss breakfast and we had dinner there that was wonderful too! The staff is just so friendly and accommodating. We travel all over the world and
I am always so excited to return to Solage and I even bring friends!!! Top of the line in every way!

Room Tip: We love the rooms with a hot tub on a very private back area to the room. On cool nights, it is such...

easy to find and right down the road from calistoga, this hotel consists of individual bungalows furnished in a contemporary and homey way, with large, clean bathrooms and every modern comfort you would expect. There are bicycles outside each bungalow given that some are quite a distance away from the main building and the pool.

The pool is the centre of social life. It's a good size and has ample sundecks for everyone. assistants cruise amongst customers delivering iced water and free nibbles every now and then. Good scene and excellent if you want to do some lane swimming.

The restaurant is excellent. A bit too fusion-type for my tastes but the ingredients are fresh, the combinations tasty and the portions good. Service is friendly and efficient. The wine list is extensive, though as expected a bit overpriced, and lacking in non-US choices at reasonable prices.

Overall, a relaxing stay and meets expectations, though no more than that.

This is a wonderful property with excellent staff, amenities, and restaurant. Great location to launch all your wine tasting expeditions. The rooms are extremely comfortable. Beds are great! TV screen is the best I have seen. They have bikes that you can use to ride around town. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone seemed very happy which makes your stay even more pleasant.

Would recommend to anyone who wants to have a great stay in this area.

My wife and I loved our time at this wonderful and well-kept secret resort in Calistoga, and we had our with teens with us, too. Time is fleeting and we loved having them with us at Solage Calistoga. Whether swimming, sitting in the hot tub, dining at the very nice on-premise restaurant, taking a hike nearby or riding their many available bikes past the vineyards, it was a welcome distraction to the usual sport of texting and taking selfies.

If I had four hands, I'd give it four thumbs up!

Great resort. Awesome separate cabin type accommodations on a large property provides privacy and quiet. Great lap pool and separate kids pool. Bocce ball courts. Amenities are very good, free wireless internet, giant flat screen TVs, two bikes for every unit. Nice country feel, with views of surrounding hills. Feels remote, but very close to town of Calistoga (just around the corner). Only slight drawback is location a little further from Yountville area and many of the high profile restaurants. The geothermal pool (different from the lap pool and kids pool) is no big deal in my opinion, not worth paying extra for. It's just a regular pool with lukewarm water. That being said, the "rise and dine" package, which includes access to the geothermal pool, also includes a great free breakfast. If you can afford to stay at Solage, this package is good value.

All the staff seem genuinely friendly, and very helpful. Great vibe!

If you can do it, put it into your budget, and go the Solage Calistoga as often as possible. They treat you like royalty, you have every spa service available, the food is incredible, the rooms are luxurious in that laid back, California spa sort of way, and you will never feel better or more relaxed. It's so win-win!
