We go here with a large group a couple times a year. The back rooms have small and limited kitchens that need some updating but we use them along with things brought from home for comfortable family meals. The staff is always willing to help and makes sure we have everything we need. Although there is free wifi, it is spotty at best and usually only available in the front courtyard and a few of the rooms. We love the three mineral pools. We appreciate the pool noodles they have for everyone to use. Our children, ages 2 and 5, have many other children to swim with and the water is so warm it is comfortable to stay in for hours. It is located at the end of Calistoga's main drag so it's very convenient to walk to get coffee, visit the farmer's market, and visit the park.

We thoroughly enjoyed 3 mineral pools, with 3 different temps! Our skin felt so soft & exfoliated after & we loved it! Relaxed in our nice comfy robes, & the room came w/a mini fridge so we were able to chill our wine we'd bought wine tasting & enjoyed it at dinner. Hotel staff was very friendly, our room was super clean. I also liked how it's on the main street, so we checked in at 3, & were able to walk everywhere. We will definitely be back to stay at this cute little quant place. We also hear they offer private bungalow cottages & 2 more pools! Maybe we'll stay in one of those next time & check out the Mud Baths & Spa treatments everyone was raving about?! :)

When my husband and I were planning our Napa Valley destination wedding we knew that we wanted to find a hotel location where friends and family could stay together and take advantage of the best that Napa Valley has to offer without the burden of the standard Napa Valley price tag. Dr Wilkinson's strikes that perfect balance. We had already been coming to Dr. Wilkinson's for years and had fallen in love with the charm of the hotel and Calistoga, so it seemed like a perfect spot for our 65-person party of friends and family to gather together for a long wedding weekend. The hotel courtyard and amazing mineral pools provided a perfect gathering spot and the hotel's central location in Calistoga meant that guests could easily venture off to wineries, shopping and restaurants without having to rent a car. Carolynne and Mark were extremely gracious hosts every step of the way and completely exceeded our expectations. They made the group reservation process extremely easy, received our packages in advance of the wedding, treated us to a couples massage (which was fantastic!), and generously offered us the use of the hotel conference room for the weekend for gathering together and storing and assembling decor--they even hung a mirror in the room for us to use as the wedding party was getting ready on the big day. Our guests were completely won over by the friendly and attentive service of everyone from the front desk to housekeeping, the amazing spa services, the great location, and the relaxing mineral pools. Several said they felt like THEY were the VIPs and they have continued to rave about their experience and told us they plan to return to Dr. Wilkinson's for future trips. We already loved this spot for a romantic couple's getaway or fun weekend with friends, but they proved through this experience that no matter what you throw at them, they will make the experience wonderful. They made or wedding weekend incredibly memorable and made us loyal customers for life!

Room Tip: Rooms in the Victorian House are quietest.

Dear Rebekah,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us on tripadvisor! It was both a pleasure and honor to have you spend your very special occasion with us! Carolynne and I both enjoyed meeting you and your family. Indeed, you two were the first to experience a couples massage here at Dr. W's! Times change but gratitude and hospitality will always be our goal!

Again, so many thanks!
Mark Wilkinson

Nice clean hotel room along with attentive staff. It has 3 really good pools (hot, warm, cool) which are available to all guest, not just spa guest. Although, it is a "dated" decor, it seems to work. And for the area the price is reasonable that is why I gave it the highest marks

We stayed at this property over the Fourth of July weekend. Overall, we were very pleased and found the rooms spacious, clean and quiet. We were however disappointed with the lack of management presence on a holiday weekend with respect to the pool area. As is often the case over a holiday weekend there were some partiers present and unfortunately they really put a damper on the mineral pool experience for us. In the rooms there is information about the pool and it clearly states there is no alcohol on the pool deck. The partiers came every morning, placed their towels on six or so lounge chairs before leaving to go to breakfast, saving their lounge chairs for when they returned. It was like they owned the resort. No one could use their lounge chairs while they were absent for hours. When they did return, they had their solo cups full up with vodka and whatever and proceeded to take over the pool with games of marco polo, chicken, back flips off the side and so forth. When the giant inflatable alligator came out we had to throw in the towel. Sure, we could have complained and something would have been done but that crowd would have have the rest of the weekend miserable for us. Management should have been checking on the area and inquiring about all of the solo cups littering the pool deck. We did venture down the street to check out the sister property (hideaway cottages) and decided that was more up our alley for our next visit. Very clean properties, and aside from the lack of management presence we were very happy with our stay.

Dear RenoTwig,

Thank you so much for leaving your review. I am always pleased to hear feedback! Indeed, the 4th of July holiday is a major family event with many return guests and children. We do not allow large "floaties" and the guests were indeed asked to remove them. Unfortunately, we can not go and directly ask guests what is in their cups! Week-ends like the Memorial Day, the 4th, and Labor Day are generally when our pools are quite frankly not as calm, due to many children, as others! I will speak with our management team about making an even greater effort to patrol the pool areas. Trust me when I say that we regularly checked the pools as much as we could!

I thank you for your feedback and kind comments about the room and cleanliness! Indeed, if you are looking for a kid free guarantee, our Hideaway Cottages are where you want to be!

My apologies to you ! We hope to see you here another time soon!

Warm best wishes,
Mark Wilkinson
