We recently spent a couple of days at the Dolphin inn and enjoyed it very much. We stayed in room 210 (Queen size bed with partial view of the ocean). The view was fabulous!!! Our friends opted for room 205 (king size bed with peek a boo view of the ocean) and they were very satisfied. The difference between the two rooms was $40.00 per night.
Pros:The rooms were very comfortable and included all sort of amenities: Fireplace, Coffee machine, microwave, refrigerator, bath robes, superb Hairdryer (for those with long hair, you will definetely appreciate it) etc....
Breakfast in a bag was certainly an interesting experience. We liked it and it was perfect to carry to the beach. The selection was quite good but the quality could have been better but overall very nice.
Cons: Water pressure and shower head. It takes forever to rinse out....

Lots of attention is given to details. We came back one afternoon to find, fresh baked cookies, the fireplace was on, and a birthday cake awaited my husband with a very nice note. This was simply a very nice touch and a very cozy feeling. Again, thank you very much...
We will definetly be back!!! This is "the place" when in Cambria.

Room Tip: Room 210 was lovely. I am not sure I would chose one of the 3 full ocean view rooms located on the ground floor. All three rooms share one large terrace, not my idea of privacy

We stayed here for 1 night in a room at the side, so we had only a partial view of the sea, but nevertheless we thought this was a wonderful place. We were welcomed very warmly and shown to our room to settle in before registering. The room was large with a faux fireplace, a king-sized bed, a lovely bathroom and all possible conveniences to make our stay happy.
Breakfast was delivered to the room packed in a paper carry bag, so we could picnic in bed or go across the road to the beach (if only it wasn't a foggy morning!) - a lovely touch. A terrific dinner was enjoyed at Robin's, as recommended by the staff. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Blue Dolphin and wished it had been for a longer time.

Room Tip: A side room nearer the front than the back gives a little view of the sea and is away from any noise at Reception

We stayed here for 1 night during our California road trip and just wanted to stay for the rest of the week. The hotel is quaint and very well equipped, furnished in an elegant way with all the extras you would expect. We had a room overlooking the ocean and spotted the dolphins swimming by in the early evening. A stonesthrow from the amazing boardwark which spans along the beach front.
The pack-up breakfast was a great touch.
Cambria itself was a lovely town with some nice galleries and wine shops!
Looking forward to returning hopefully very soon.

Room Tip: Ocean view a must!

We stayed one night in early October in the Aegean Suite. First off, "Suite" is a bit of a misnomer. If you are used to luxury hotels and suites, you know they are usually spacious rooms with a separate seating area. This room, although very nice and very clean, was a bit small to be termed a suite. If you get cramped, we had a lovely patio with a great ocean view. The patio, although large, is not private as the other four rooms share it with you. There are privacy screens that are effective if you stay close to the door. The patio also fronts the street and public sidewalk so there is quite a bit of traffic going by. All that being said, the hotel was modern with exceptional amenities and a wonderful staff. It certainly lookes as though it was the best place to stay. Even considering the aforementioned caveats, I would recomend it.

We wanted to take a nice 2 day getaway to relax and just chill out. We hadn't been to Cambria in years so we booked a partial ocean view room at the Blue Dolphin Inn across from Moonstone Beach. The hotel was small and very welcoming with lovely decor in the lobby. Very friendly staff who gave us tips on where to dine and what to see. Our room was charming, with a lovely view of the beach right across the street. You could hear the waves breaking quite clearly. The bed was super, pillows very soft and comfy. High quality amenities, robes and a Kreirug coffee maker to boot. The breakfasts were packed so you could take your goodies out to the patio or across the street to the beach to eat them. Wonderfully relaxing atmosphere and hotel very quiet at night, We slept like babies!
Be sure and eat at the Sea Chest! Wow to the view and the food to die for.
What a great long weekend.

Room Tip: get a partial or full ocean view its worth it
