A restful, midway stop from monterey to la, pleasantly surprised with cozy rooms, fireside pool, yummy breakfast all seated 50' from ocean.
FYI, room has no A/C, only gas fireplace for heat, and was a bit stuffy since no breeze w open windows. Otherwise perfectly comfortable and clean.

Thank you for taking the time to review the FogCatcher Inn. We appreciate your feedback and happy to know you enjoyed your stay! I do apologize if you felt the room was a little stuffy, typically the cool weather and sea breeze on the coast provides a natural air-conditioner, but this must have been one of the rare occasions where the weather was a little too warm.

We will look forward to having you as a guest again in the not too distant future.

My husband and I took a Pacific coast highway road trip recently and we started in Cambria at The FogCatcher Inn. It was the quaintest and most comfortable Inn we've ever stayed. We had an ocean view room with King Canopy Bed, Fireplace, and oceanview deck. It was fantastic! The location was excellent and the view was breathtaking! So close to the lighthouse and Hearst Castle. Breakfast was very good and the staff was superb! Next time we come, we will stay there all week.

Room Tip: Front rooms facing Moonstone Beach are the best

My husband and I recently visited this property sight unseen and we were not disappointed. The location was amazing, just across from Moonstone Beach and the proximity to all the sights of the Central Coast was fantastic. The room although not fancy, was comfortable and I wish it had been colder to really take advantage of the in-room fireplace. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area and we enjoyed a fantastic dinner at The Sea Chest just down the street because of their glowing recommendation. The only negative point we had was that housekeeping didn't get to our room until too late in the afternoon and we were already back from our day activities getting ready for dinner. We had them leave towels and supplies but it would have been nice to have it cleaned. I'd call to let the staff know you were going out and wanted your room clean if this is important to you as they focus on the checked out rooms for their arriving guests first.

Room Tip: In the back away from the parking lot. We had a corner room with a peek-a-boo ocean view and could...

I have to say, this is by far one of my favorite places I have ever stayed. We stayed for one night as a stop over on our way to San Francisco. Rooms were clean and roomy with a set of binoculars and a fireplace. Although we stayed in August it got very chilly at night and the fireplace was nice. We had a view of the ocean too. Staff was excellent and was understanding when our tour at Hearst Castle ran late and we were late for check out. The hotel was across from Moonstone Beach which we enjoyed walking in the early morning, there are restaurants close by and the heated pool my son loved. The gardens on the grounds are also lovely and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast as well. Wished we dould have stayed another night!

I loved everything about this place, the location was superb, across the road from moonstone beach. Room was large, bed huge. clean, comfortable. Loved the fire, made you feel so cosy.
The lady on reception was very welcoming and informative. She gave us some lovely homemade cookies to have with our coffee from the filter machine in our room. It was just the one night but it was a little gem, we were recommended this place by a lovely lady at Hearst Castle. Breakfast was lovely.

We stayed here for one night on our trip up the PCH from San Diego to San Fran, and it was the perfect stopover. My daughter was excited by the pool, and made full use of it, as well as insisting on a late night family trip to the hot tub which was the perfect way to sooth tired muscles after two weeks of non stop sight seeing! We also loved the complimentary hot chocolates! There was a fabulous place to eat in Cambria, super cheap, which the guys at the Fogcatcher Inn recommended, and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty!! Definitely recommended!!
