“Get lost in the beauty”
Reviewed 24 February 2013

My husband and I are not hikers, joggers or anything like that. We took a long leisurely stroll on the reserve. It was picturesque, calming and serene. Wear comfortable shoes and carry a sweater, depending on the weather, because you are steps away from the ocean. Take water.

“State Park Picnic Area”
Reviewed 9 February 2013

Take you picnic here and enjoy the cove and maybe see a whale in the season. Only drawback, school groups like to have lunch and ecology classes here for middle schoolers.

“Worth a visit in Cambria”
Reviewed 5 July 2012

Leffingwell Landing is on a small cove, easily reached from the hotels on Moonstone Beach via the boardwalk along the shore (go right, or north, from the main hotel strip). We planned a visit earlier this year to coincide with low tide, which exposes some very nice tidepools among the rocks on the right side of the small beach, and allows easy access to look at the interesting rock formations on the left side. More recently we visited with the tide in -- no tidepools but to compensate, we saw sea otters playing in the water. This is not a typical sun-bathing beach (rocky and lots of seaweed), but rather, an easily accessible place to see marine life.

“Awesome Landing!”
Reviewed 14 June 2012

The views are terrific and parking is easy. We came down to the beach which is not white sand but dark small pebbles, but it was okay. We went to explore tide pools and climbed on the rocks. We enjoyed the beauty of the ocean and the the plants and flowers. Great view of sea birds and friendly squirrels. Great place to hang out and feel nature at it's best. Serene.
