My husband and I were celebrating 29 years of friendship and love and wanted
to get away to someplace quiet. The cabin was built in 1935 and the craftsmanship
was apparent in all the rooms. The place has a wonderful fireplace that we utilized
every morning. We loved that the neighborhood was so quiet. There are beautiful photos and artwork hung on the walls. We enjoyed having a kitchen that had everything that we needed. The bathroom has only a tub with a spray gun to rinse
off with but that also added to the charm of staying in a home built in the 1930.
It all depends on your preference. Refrigerator dirty, coffee grinder left soiled, coffee pot did not work properly. No regular shower, no shower curtain to prevent spray from hand held shower. No hair dryer. Over the years, we have stayed at several home/condo rentals and I cannot say this met our expectation. We have had several more amenities. Walk to Cambria only 0.6 miles but walk back is uphill and somewhat steep. Property is overgrown
There are pros and cons to everything. On the plus side, this is a very quiet location in a nice neighborhood. It is close to the Village but not too close. It was suggested we walk to town but the walk back up a hill nearly a mile long would be tough. There is plenty of room in the cabin, which has lots of windows. On the minus side, it was not clean. Dust covered everything and when we went to put one of our travel cases under the bed for storage we were confronted by dust rhinos; no one had cleaned under there in a very long time. The top of the furniture was dusted off but the legs of the tables were very dirty and dusty. The toilet and sink were clean but the tub was not. We had to clean it since you must sit in the tub and bathe with a handheld shower head. The floors were grimy and the kitchen floor was sticky. Some of the dishes still had food on them. I find it especially annoying since we were charged a $50 "cleaning fee". Why?

My husband and I stayed at this quaint and quiet cabin over the fourth of July. The location is ideal as it is close to the beach and to the unique, little town of Cambria. We had a lovely time and would stay here again! The only suggestion I have would be to add a shower curtain and provide a hair dryer for guests.
For a joint big birthday getaway for three longtime friends, this was just what we had hoped for. Peaceful, immaculate, artistically simple, five minutes from everything (20 to the elephant seals). Owners lovely. Favorite two outside meals--indigo moon and black cat bistro (make reservations!). A microwave for leftovers would be nice.

My husband and I drove up to Cambria for a wedding and chose to stay at this cabin instead of the usual hotel because it looked cute and had good reviews. We stayed a Friday and Saturday night. The place was exactly as shown online. The only complaint I would have is that there wasn't a shower. The hand held device just didn't cut it. Also as I was going to a wedding, it would of been nice to have a full length mirror, it was quite hard to see anything with the mirror on the corner of the bedroom wall. Other than that it was a cute find in Cambria.
