Very clean and comfortable spot overlooking Moonstone Beach. Moonstone beach is divine with stunning views and a nice walking trail along the coast out to the point. Wonderful restaurants nearby (we loved Indigo Moon in town). Hotel breakfast was OK, eggs, biscuits, gravy, waffles, fruit & yogurt but I did notice that all the bread and bagels were put out the night before. Would have liked to see fresh breads and baked goods. Staff was efficient and helpful. Suites are very large with fireplace and sitting area.

This was the perfect place for a weekend get away. We had an ocean front suite that was clean and comfy with modern elegant decor. This room had it all, jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff was friendly and available. We enjoyed the walks along the beach trails and perfect weather (August) .

We started our road trip up Highway One by spending our first night at the Pelican Inn in Cambria, California. Our friends, who have stayed at the Pelican Inn before, introduced us to this charming small hotel across the small road from the ocean. You can walk on the beachfront boardwalk to the small beaches, or sit on the benches and enjoy the waves, the ocean, and the sea birds. The Pelican Inn provides wine and cheese for their guests in the evening, and then a nice, simple breakfast in the morning. Very nice. The rooms are a bit more "upscale" than you would expect which is nice. They offer full ocean view, and partial ocean view. Check about what kind of room you want when you make your reservation. The Pelican Inn is a very nice place to stay in Cambria.

Room Tip: Decide whether you want "full" ocean view or "partial" ocean view when you make you reservation. Both are nice.

What a great find! Visiting our friend in Cambria and just driving along Moonstone Beach looking for a place to stay. We saw the beautiful balconies overlooking the Pacific and took a chance. They had one room left with a side balcony and a partial view. They were so nice. Allowing us to look at the room first and seeing what we could have. We had wine and cheese and other snacks around 5 and a delicious hot buffet breakfast served in the morning. The room was set up like a suite with the bedroom area one step up from the living room area. The club chair had a nice footrest and the couch was comfortable for laying down and resting. There was a small fridge and the bathroom was a nice size. We really liked this place and would have stayed there if we did not have to move on. We went for a walk in the early morning and it was spectacular! only one thing, it was so hot and the sun was coming in through the balcony. We could have used an air conditioner. There were ceiling fans but they did not cool off the room until very late.

Room Tip: Look at the room before you decide. There were rooms without views.

What a nice hotel!! Our room was gorgeous with a beautiful fireplace and balcony with view of the beach! We loved the nibblies and wine in the afternoon and the included breakfast was delicious as well. Right across the road were the seals and rock pools and the town of Cambria was quaint with some lovely craft shops. Well worth the stop for the night!!
