We visited and Cambria and were looking for a hotel there seemed to be 4 to choose from and we chose Burton Inn - We had a suite at the front, the staff were very friendly, the rooms spacious and clean and the breakfast was healthy and delicious. We were given an excellent recommendation for supper - staying at the burton certainly enhanced our enjoyment of Cambria

Wow - how lucky we're we!
9 of us arrived unannounced seeking rooms for one night. Not only were we accommodated in lovely rooms, we have experienced the most genuine and generous hospitality in the US after traveling for the past 6 weeks. Dinner arrangements at the wonderful Robins up the street were set following Jim's spot on recommendation, and a beautiful breakfast was provided for us this morning before we hit the road again. The rooms were extremely comfortable, spotless and very welcome after travel with comfy beds that gave us a great sleep. The family room for 5 was very spacious and great to stay in. If we are ever this way again it would be our first port of call. Thank you Jim for your wonderful hospitality.

Room Tip: The family room 1 king and 2 queens accommodated 5 people very comfortably

Large rooms stylishly decorated, we really needed to spend more than one night here. Friendly owners we really enjoyed the wine greeting in the lounge. Ideal location we loved our stay here, close to the main street with good restaurants, galleries and shops all within walking distance.
Breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit, cereal and cooked eggs if desired.

The location is perfect if you want to walk around downtown. The hotel is a remodel originally built in 1800's. The remodel was probably completed in the 80's and the decor is somewhat funky with older features. The rooms are very large with a separate seating area. Shower is a trip as it barely gets the shampoo out of your hair. No amenities and no restaurant on the premise.

If the downtown location is a must- consider it but there are better values in Cambria.

After a last minute decision to stay in Cambria on our road trip up the coast, we randomly chose The Burton Inn based on availability and price and we were NOT disappointed. Upon arriving late, we opened our room to a gorgeous king bed next to a sitting room with huge flat screen tv, and a soaking tub. The next morning was greeted with a delicious "healthy California" breakfast and a sweet sendoff from the owner. My only regret is that we couldn't spend more time at the Inn nor in Cambria. We will DEFINITELY be recommending this place to friends and family, and dreaming of our next visit!

The weather in Los Angeles has been more akin to Mordor; I had a writing assignment due, my A/C had decided it was more fun to blow hot air, I needed to escape; I found a $100/night deal for a luxury suite on booking.com, cross-referenced with the reviews on trip advisor, then went to the Burton Inn website, noted they said - we honor internet prices and if you book with us, you will get a free breakfast. Called and spoke with Terry, the owner, who honored the $100 price - although their website had it for $200, and I had breakfast.
I needed to give my credit card to hold the room and paid for the full 3 nights upon arrival.

My room was at the back up a steep flight of stairs and was gorgeous, big, so clean...the A/C worked great, had big flat screen TV, DVD player, fridge, kettle, coffee maker, microwave, full living room, deep tub...i could go on and on - suffice it to say - I was very happy. They have a white and red wine choice with peanuts in the evening in the library area - you can borrow a huge assortment of DVD's and videos..Jim, the other owner chatted with me during the wine reception -since i had no one else to talk to!...

My breakfast was lovely - Estelle cooked me eggs, there was fresh oatmeal, cereal, English muffins, fresh bread, fresh fruit - watermelon, pineapple, blue berries and grapes while i was there - and more...great start to the day.

All the staff are very helpful and friendly, from Terry/Jim the owners, to Maryanne on the front desk during the day, and Estelle in the morning...

The only bad thing about my trip was: I had to leave...but i will be back....

ps - my article was finished and now published....life is good...

Room Tip: I enjoyed being on the second floor at the back - very quiet and still good wifi reception. My bed w...

We stayed at the Burton Inn over the holiday weekend. Not only did we enjoy our two rooms. But, Terry, the owner was so terrific. I had ordered a gift for my husband's birthday and it hadn't arrived. She went very far out of her way to track down where the gift was -- even though she had no responsibility for it. And the rest of the team was just as helpful!
