Seriously the best calamari I've ever had. It was tender, but fully cooked and perfectly fried. The rest of the meal was also great. The line was crazy. We got there at 5:00 (they open at 5:30) and there were already 50+ people in line. By the time they opened, the line had wrapped all the way around the parking lot. We actually made it in on the first seating, which was great. Service was incredibly slow (it was very busy so I do understand, but it's still a factor so I knocked one star off).

We've been visiting Cambria for many years and this time on a three-week stay, looked to restaurants we had not tried before. We had previously passed on the Sea Chest because of the Oyster Bar emphasis; neither of us being fans of oysters. We also feared that with their high priced Moonstone Beach location they might depend more on their location than the food quality to bring customers in. This time, based on reviews, we tried it and found that there's much more on the menu than oysters. We also lucked out with a window seat during sunset.

Because they do not take reservations, we arrived early on a week night but still had a 10 minute wait. They also take only cash. They do have an ATM.

If you are not an oyster fan, go here anyway. Most of the menu items do not feature oysters. The oysters are probably good, but our non-oyster dishes were excellent.

Having arrived 25mins after opening to be told there'd be an hour's wait for the table is always a good sign, this place must be good. Despite the Nov chill it was a pleasure to enjoy a beer by the big fire in the courtyard with a couple of regulars for company. Once we were seated as promised I loved that they took our starter order so they could get a head start - a good way to make sure we didn't linger too long but we didn't feel rushed! Clam casino and calamari to start (should have just shared they calamari as it was huge! ), couldn't place what it was about the clams that was so good, but they really were! As for the calamari, genuinely they were the best I've ever had. Then what may as well be classed as gratis clam chowder was just beautiful, followed by halibut with butter and lemon (an absolute classic and far larger steak than you'd ever get in the uk) and an amazing garlicky, mushroomy scallop and shrimp (prawn) thing that was just lovely! All in all a great atmosphere with lovely staff, but the portions got the better of us!

We ate here as we were staying very close by at The Fog Catcher Inn. We chose this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews.
They do not accept bookings or credit cards.
We had a twenty minute wait for a table and waited in the bar area which was very cocky.
Our server was really good, the food was superb we both had sea food and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. all of the staff were friendly and made us very welcome. There was a great atmosphere in the restaurant and several other customers chatted to us and welcomed us to Cambria.
Overall a great experience I would highly recommend dining here

My husband and I stayed right next door at Moonstone Landing (amazing hotel) and Sea Chest was recommended to us. We went and LOVED it. We wished we had dinner here the first night because we paid less and had much better food and service. My husband had the calamari steak and I had the shrimp and scallop scampi with the potatoes and veggies. Both were excellent and came with salad or clam chowder. We got there slightly after opening and had about a 20 minute wait, which was in the bar and was quite nice. We were about to play trivial pursuit when our name came up for a table. The service was great, the fellow patrons were nice, and just remember no credit card, but there is an ATM in the place so get your cash when you get your bill.

We will definitely be back here!
