“Very nice..may get even better!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2012

We stay here at least once a year. I was told it was under new ownership with plans for renovation so we are looking forward to experiencing some improvements. Usually they offer a free bottle of wine or champagne when you arrive, but that did not happen this time. Also, we usually can get two keys to the room, but we were told they didn't have two keys for us. Other than that, everything was fine and just like the other reviews said, the staff is very friendly, the location is great, and a nice breakfast delivered to the room.

Room Tip: Rooms in the front have a balcony and excellent view of ocean.

We have stayed in all diff types of rooms here..the ones in the front facing the ocean are my favorite...there is a larger room usually cheaper, kinda by itself and by the indoor spa...it is a handicap room.... I love it because it is lg has a fireplace is by itself...All other rooms are nice as well....always a complimentary bottle of champagne or wine with our stay.. and coffee and breakfast delivered to your door in the morning. Staff is always amazing and friendly. iThis place is right next door to my fav resturaunt too! so just walk next door have a few cocktails and walk back to our room. :) very convienent!!

Room Tip: of course an ocean view room! ;)

Ended up in Cambria for the first time on a whim and found a room at Cambria Landing. Gorgeous views of the ocean and was very peaceful. The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Michael who made sure everything was to my liking. Coffee being brought to the room in the morning was a great touch.

We stayed two nights in the Fog Catcher and then transferred for a third night to the Cambria Landing.

As with everybody we met in Cambria the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are good, not quite at large or quite as convenient for unloading the car as the Fog Catcher, but perfectly OK.

The really big difference is the breakfast. The in room continental breakfast is fom chopped fruit and a small muffin. At he Frog Catcher you serve yourself in the breakfast room and eat as much as you like from a wide selection.

If you are lucky you can get a room with a fantastic sea view. The sunsets are really spectacular and make up for the breakfast.

If you are looking for a nice place in Cambria, with a view of the ocean then this place is great. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. They provide a nice continental breakfast that is delivered to your room each morning with very good coffee and muffins. It isn't anything fancy, but it gets you going in the morning.

About the only thing I could complain about is the bed. Ours in room 204 was hard as a rock, while our friends next door in 206 had a very comfy bed. While I understand that when you have a hotel you have to find somewhere in-between for each guest, the bed in room 204 should have a mattress topper put on it. My wife and I felt like we had been a little beat up after two nights of sleeping there.

Other than that, the place is great. Under new ownership and they are doing their best to please the guests. We were supposed to have a free bottle of wine with our stay, but due to a snag in the properties liquor license, they were not allowed to pass them out. That was kind of a bummer as it would have been nice to enjoy the view with a bottle of vino.

Overall, if you are looking for a nice romantic hotel in the Cambria/San Simenon area you could do a lot worse than Cambria Landing. I would for sure stay again.

Room Tip: Might want to try for a queen bed, they seemed better than the king sized.

Stayed one night on the way to Carmel. Incredibly friendly staff, clean, modern and large room. The in-room spa was very nice. Liked it so much, we booked another night for our return home. Steps away from the Sea Chest restaurant which has the best seafood in the western U.S. The wooden walking path just across the street lines the coast providing great views of the beach and area wildlife. Watch out for aggressive squirrels though, they'll tug on shoe laces and camera staps looking for handouts.

We stumbled upon moonstone beach drive, upon a fellow travelers recommendation.

This B&B had a great sized room, with floor to ceiling windows giving us a fantastic view of the ocean. Rooms were clean.

We received a bottle of wine and a continental breakfast delivered to our room the next morning. The room was very nice and quiet.

Room Tip: An ocean facing view is ideal
