This simple motel was ideally located and very charming. The room was of a very good size and decorated quite lovely. Waking up to the sound of the waves breaking on the shore was just what we were looking for. The front desk host was extremely helpful with dinner choices at a very busy time of the year and rang many places to check on menus and availability. She was the perfect example of excellent customer service. It was a pleasure to stay in such an amazing location.

What a great find. Located right on the beach, this is the nicest hotel we have stayed in while in the USA. Rates were very reasonable, service was great & breakfast was delicious. The town of Cambria had lots nice restaurants to chose from too.

We needed a place to stay while waiting for our Hearst Castle tours and found this spot to be just right. Nothing fancy, clean basic room, great rate $89, generous continental breakfast, friendly and knowledgeable host across from the beach. Enjoyed the sunset from their lawn chairs and walked to dinner.

Heated pool and hot tub...superb beach access.

Room Tip: The person at the front desk let us look at all the available rooms.

Thank you for staying with us while you were waiting for your tour at Hearst Castle. It is nice to hear that you enjoyed the lawn chairs. It is such a perfect location to sit, relax and take in another Central Coast Sunset.
I hope that you return soon and thank you for your feedback.

The pros first
- Good location
- Steps from moonstone state beach.

The cons
- Very cold rooms - I cannot believe they rent out rooms for 130$ per night without a heater in December. It should be against the law.
- The WIFI was barely available in our room.

My wife and I stayed here for one night after driving from Monterey via Hearst Castle. Was extremely easy to find from the main road. We were checked in by a lovely lady who was full of good advice for restaurants etc. The sunset from the boardwalk across the road was just incredible and is a beautiful spot for a stroll. We had a large room upstairs which was more than what we were expecting for the low price we paid (we booked the night before through a third party website). Great king bed and the best shower either of us had had in a week or so! Would definitely recommend it and would love to stay again if we have the chance!

This isn't the best hotel on Moonstone Drive but for the price it wasn't bad. The room was clean and they provided a fridge but no microwave. The bathroom was really small with just a shower and the sink drained slowly. The bed was firm and comfortable. The breakfast was the usual but they had really good fresh small danishes. The staff was pretty nice.

My husband and I, and my brother got rooms for one night on the end of a 5 night epic journey to honor our Mom's memory. We were on the ground floor. It was really cool to be able to sit in the chairs on the lawn and watch the sunset. It was cloud free and while my brother and I tried but failed, my husband claimed to have witnessed the "green flash". The breakfast served in the morning is pretty carb-loaded so I was stuck with a hard boiled egg and coffee, but husband and brother were very happy with it. The room rate was reasonable considering we were only staying one night, and a Saturday night at that. We walked to the Moonstone and had dinner. A nice short walk for some darn good food. (the walnut pesto sauce was exceptional).

Thank you for staying with us at the end of your journey. I am glad that you were able to spend your last days of your trip at CI while honoring your mom’s memory. We are so fortunate to be located right across from the entry to the boardwalk and within walking distance to one of the best restaurants in town (Moonstone Beach Bar and Grill). I appreciate your comments on our breakfast; we have recently added “gluten free muffins”. We are planning additional improvements in the near future.
We hope to see you again soon!
Sincerely,
