My son, 23 yrs old, and I visited Costa Rica for the first time. We spent 8 days at Finca La Anita Rainforest Ranch. We couldn't have chosen a better place. Our visit was worth every colones spent! We enjoyed the company, hospitality, education, environment, and enjoyed hearing about the history and agriculture in Costa Rica from the owner, Pablo. This place is outstanding!

Pablo made sure our expectations and vacation needs were met. He suggested some really interesting tours and made arrangements for us. A few examples: A horseback ride up the side of one of the three volcanoes that could be seen from our porch. Edgar, our tour guide, was a joy to be with and was somehow able to communicate extremely well without words(we didn't brush up on our spanish). He even taught us how to make cheese back at his farm including milking a cow. We visited a local family who taught us hands-on how to prepare a traditional meal and then had the pleasure of joining them for dinner. My son asked to go on the canopy zipline tour and I'm glad he did. I overcame my fear of heights and it was a blast! These tours were reasonable, educational, and lots of fun.
The people we met were friendly, generous, and a joy to be with.
We happened to be there the same time Beverly M got married and who just gave the best description of Finca La Anita thus far. The reviews are spot on, but only a visit can tell it all.
We hope to return!

Within a few hours of arrival, my boyfriend and I found La Anita, and it's hosts Pablo and Ana, so wonderful and welcoming that we asked Pablo if it would be possible for us to get married there. Within 48 hours, he and Ana had arranged for a lovely ceremony, gorgeous flowers, champagne, fantastic food and - this is the truth - the best cake I've ever eaten in my life!

We stayed 8 days at La Anita and would happily have stayed longer. I can't say enough about this special place and these special people. Pablo and Ana felt like family, warm, generous, kind and full of knowledge and interesting stories about agriculture and life in Costa Rica. The cabins are simple but perfect, airy and clean, you can shower with a clear view of rainforest. Volcanoes surround the farm. Birdsong fills the air. There is a small lake for swimming, a river in the forest to bathe more privately while blue morpho butterflies float above. The food was delicious, nutritious, varied. There are all kinds of adventures to be had in the area, a small village beside the farm where you can experience rural life, blue rivers, waterfalls galore, hotsprings, cloudforest hikes and tours. Our every need was graciously, generously taken care of here.

And if you're looking for a beautiful place to get married - Finca La Anita place can't be beat!

Room Tip: All cabins are excellent, large, airy, with gorgeous views of surrounding volcanoes.

We spent 4 days at Finca La Anita a few weeks ago during a 2-week trip to Costa Rica. It was the highlight of our vacation as everything was just so lovely. The hosts Pablo and Ana are so very nice, generous, knowledgeable and interesting to talk with. They have put their hearts and souls into this place and it shows. The environment they have created is beautiful, tranquil, clean, authentic. The options for day trips / adventures/experiences are plentiful, able to meet a variety of needs. Pablo and Ana are so gracious in helping to arrange for any adventure you want to take. The meals are terrific - nutritious, authentic, delicious. All eaten in a lovely outdoor but beautifully built shelter where we were able to dine with the other guests, sharing each of our daily adventures. The cabins are beautifully built, clean, simple and plenty sufficient. Their Finca is located next to a tiny village that is enjoyable to walk around in, to get a feel for rural Costa Rica. We will certainly return. If you want to experience authentic, rural Costa Rica and a gorgeous setting with lots of daytime options away from a lot of other tourists, this is for you. We had a 7-year old, a 73-year old and a couple of mid-40's and it met all of our needs.

Room Tip: All cabins have same feel. Just depends on how many you're traveling with.

We had the most wonderful visit to La Anita. The only downfall is that we should have stayed longer. Pablo was the most wonderful host to us - so gracious, welcoming, friendly, warm. The cabins are amazing - made out of the most beautiful wood. Simple but very high quality. Loved how the cabins were screened only - it was wonderful to hear the sounds of the rainforest at night. The front poor on each cabin is so cute. A really pleasant place to sit and have coffee or read. The hammock was a treat. The food at La Anita is truly unbelievable. So fresh and healthy, but so much flavor and so authentic to Costa Rica. Throughout our entire trip to Costa Rica the food, accommodations, people, and surroundings were the best. Be aware the last 12km to get to La Anita is a little bumpy, but totally worth it! We highly recommend La Anita.

Room Tip: Any of the cabins would be wonderful - I don't believe there are drastic differences between any of them.
