Ok family experience, nothing real great. Food was OK. Biggest problem is the electricity went our for 3 hours today, along with the internet, staff will tell you that it is because you are in Guanacaste, and dependent on the electric company. However, other 3-star hotels in Guanacaste have back electricity for just this kind of situation. Typical stuff in the room for a 2 star hotel. Lights by the bed not functional. No face towels in the bathroom. Batteries in the TV remote control not functional. We had a small emergency at the hot negro hot springs. My mother dropped her telephone in the hot springs, and we had to pay $15 for an emergency transport, not a big deal. However, unfortunately the "emergency" transport took 35 minutes to arrive!!! The hotel would not waive the $15 fee for the delay even though the free hotel shuttle came just a few minutes later to pick-up everyone else at the hot springs. Spoke to the front desk manager and she said, "sorry the hotel activities desk is closed" and we cannot give you the $15 back. Just poor customer service that's all. Made our already unfortunate day...worse.

Room Tip: bare minimum, a bit better than a hostel

First Hotel on Grand Tour, one night stay. Our group of 20 probably had the more basic rooms on this occasion. Hotel set in beautiful extensive grounds with single storey cabins in keeping with the ranch style throughout. Clean and very adequate with great toiletries! We arrived around 4pm and following welcome drink our group either slept, explored the stables (riding next morning) and pool and/or went to the bar for snacks or to eat in the restaurant at the fixed priced buffet which was excellent value. Our tip would be to stretch out the travel legs by taking the walk (15mins) to the nearby waterfall for a swim in the pools, all within the complex. If like us you are awake very early it is well worth creeping out with the camera for some bird and wildlife spotting.

The buffet breakfast was probably one of the best of the tour in our opinion. Cases back on the bus then horse riding and tubing before departure to the next hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms pre-allocated as part of tour. All in the beautiful gardens.

Hello ! The hotel is very nice - the only feedback: for visiting the attractions - the schedule to use the hotel transportation is very limited (4 times per day ) ... so ... we needed to use our car to get there... taking into consideration that every attraction is at 4-5 km from the hotel ..

Our hotel room was clean and the bathroom had a couple of nice little touches (makeup wipes, toiletries etc) however the food at this hotel is horrendous. We ended up going hungry and skipping lunch because the choice was as bad as it looked and brought dinner from the bar that night as the dinner was even worse than the lunch option. Also there are lots of tours visiting who also use the hotels restaurant (poor people) so lunchtime is manic. However the tubing was amazing and our guides were fab. The hotel itself smells due to the stables and there are quite a lot of flies. Reception also isn’t manned 24/7. Wouldn’t return to the hotel.

Thank you Natalie G for your comments. We are sorry that your experience at the restaurant was not what you expected. As of the 3rd week of may the horses are no longer close to the rooms. Presently they are closer to the adventure center. This observation will not be an issue because of this. Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience. We are glad the the tours were of your liking.
Again thank you for your observations.
