“Ancient and beautiful monastery”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

Taktshang Goemba or Tiger’s Nest Monastery was blessed and sanctified as one of Bhutan’s most sacred religious sites. It hangs on a cliff and stands above a beautiful forest of blue pine and rhododendrons.

“Words can't explain what you see.”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

One of the must see places in Paro. While going up we took the pony which was perfectly safe. The dal and rice was awesome in the cafe on the top.

“Out of this world”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Like something out of a movie. All I expected and more. A reasonable hike is rewarded with beautiful panoramic views and of course, the temple itself which is breathtaking.

We were fortunate to arrive at 12 exactly and were able to sit in on their noon prayers. We were even treated to butter tea and biscuits. Which was a bit surreal. :)

“if you are energetic go climbing up to the monastery. I climbed up till the cafetaria,”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

The path is not so good, so try it if only you want to. You can hire a pony but i heard it was risky so didn't try that.

“Not to be missed!”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

A good little hike, probably best done after a full day acclimating to the altitude in Paro, but our schedule did not allow (we were coming from sea level). The climb, the views, the initial feel of the mountains... add to the amazing sense of the monastery perched up in the clouds.
