Top notch service, top notch room (stayed in the Paris) very clean, tasteful, excellent staff, very close walk to the beach. Breakfast brought to our room on time, wine and dessert always good.

My husband and I stayed two nights there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Before we came we thought it was a bit pricey but after staying there we felt it was well worth every cent spent! We were pampered, taken care of and all around had a fabulous time. From the welcome we received, to the evening reception, late night dessert, to breakfast delivered to our room. We loved our private patio and private hot tub. I must say it was the nicest place we have ever stayed at and we can't wait to come back sometime and before our 50th anniversary also!!

The Inn was recommended by dear friends, so I surprised my husband for his birthday by staying there; we had honeymooned ( many years ago ! ) in Paris, so decided to stay in a room reflecting that special time. We were spoiled, pampered, enjoyed delicious appetizers and wine early evening and after spending time in the village , we were offered scrumptious desserts late evening. The night had turned delightfully foggy so, creamy , hot chocolate ended a perfect day. Thanks for the welcome, the caring attitudes and finally the five star breakfast served in our room as we enjoyed a cosy fire; you are awesome !!!!

The staff was very welcoming and helpful in every way. There are many lovely areas, including the patio, to enjoy yourself, whether sipping sherry and enjoying the tasty appetizers each evening or reading the newspaper after breakfast. The creative use of space and furnishings in each room and the Library Suite is a treat to the eye. It was very nice to have the choice of breakfast in our room or in the dining area.

We walked in w/out reservations on Sunday afternoon around 2. Jordan was very helpful and showed us the rooms that would be available for 1 night. We chose Cote d'Azur. It is so nice to have the space of a suite plus our private patio and designated parking spot (only for this room).
The bed does need to be replaced since it dips on both sides and seemed smaller than a queen.
We didn't use the private outdoor whirlpool tub. It's old and kind of funky looking.
Now back to the extras....
They offer wine, sparkling cider and snacks from 5-7. This was very nice. From there we walked to town for dinner and returned to the Inn for dessert at 8. The kitchen is open for leftovers which is nice. So all this on top of breakfast which can be enjoyed in the dining room or in the privacy of your room.
They also accept BedandBreakfast.com gift cards, so that was another plus for us since these can be purchased at Costco.com at 20% off.
We will return and try another room next time.

We have been to the Inn at Depot Hill several times and each time is a wonderful experience. Claire is always so sweet and accommodating and the breakfasts are always such a delicious treat. We stay in the Library room. We have stayed in the Delft room, also, and loved it, but the Library has become our favorite, with its second floor bed and TV. It's a really cozy and romantic room. The whole place is romantic and they have weddings there occasionally on the large patio with the beautiful fountain and hydrangeas and ivy. It's just such a beautiful and dreamy place. You feel right at home the minute you get there. The inn has DVDs available and each room has a nice CD/radio, which was playing beautiful music when we walked in the room. The ambience at the inn is conducive to rest and relaxation, which is what a vacation is really all about, and being just two blocks from Capitola Beach just adds to it . We can hardly wait to return.

We stayed at the Inn for 2 nights in the Railroad Baron Room. This room is a great theme room, with over-the-top red velvet everywhere. The charm of the Inn overall is also outstanding.

The first negative is the lack of parking. This place only has a couple of spots, definitely not enough for one per guest, and street parking is illegal without a permit. It is frustrating to pay so much fora room and then not even have a guaranteed parking space.

Food has its pluses and deltas. The appetizer spread and desert spread changes daily so you never know what will be available. Overall the special hot appetizer was always great. Breakfast also changes daily, and they make your breakfast one the spot when you come down, but you cant choose what you want. Everyone gets eggs Benedict, or everyone gets pancakes, etc.. I am a slightly more picky eater, so this was a little disappointing to me.

What made this room 3.5 (round up to 4) stars for me was that our room wasnt super clean. There was a lime green colored mold growing outside our shower door, and the shower door actually had to be lifted up and pulled to close, as something seemed to be wrong wit the hinge. The light bulbs in the bathrooms were different sizes/shapes/brightnesses. None of these are a huge deal, but just a little more care in the upkeep and they could be back in the 5 star area.

As a side note, this room gets really war mat night, and there is no air conditioning!

Their website booking page was also a bit challenging (their advertised specials did NOT show up as an option when trying to book). Manager did not respond to emails with inquiries.
