“favorite restaurant in santa cruz county”

Really good food and a great staff, plus the restaurant is quiet enough that you can talk with people at your table.

“Valentine in Waiting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2014

The Bella Roma is a cute very nice restaurant and we felt lucky to get a reservation for thier Prix Fixe Valentine's Day menu. I would dine there again when the opportunity came around again. However, our 15th Anniversary Night dinner experience on Valetine's Day was not the best ever, but it wasn't bad either. The service staff seemed to be over whelmed by the first wave of reservations. We waited for our waters, we had to ask three times for my wife's hot tea. The number of entree choices was limited so I don't understand why our lamb shanks took so long to be served. We left a 20%+ gratuity but I can't say it was earned.
Hey, but it was our anniversary and we had a great time. It was easy to forgive.

“A little Italy in Capitoa”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2013

We dined here on a recommendation of a friend. The menu spanned many of my favorite Italian dishes so we had many to chose from. The wine list is small but unique. The waiter had memorized at least six special entrees that were not on the menu. I chose one and was not disappointed. The service was quite efficient and personal. The brushetta was great. The chef came out and greeted us. Nice touch. All in all a great romantic dining experience. We will be back.

“One of the better places to eat in Capitola”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2013

This is one of our regular restaurants in Capitola. They always have great specials and a menu with a lot of variety. On warm nights we like to sit outside and whether we are inside or outside, we always get great service. For a change o pace, we even like to sit at the small bar where we can see all the action in the kitchen. The owner is always around and it proud of the quality of food his kitchen turns out. In general, we like to take our time and never feel rushed. Can't comment on desserts, as we are always too full. Have a good wine list, considering the size of the restaurant. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want as they always seem able to accommodate special requests.

“Delicious dinner & great service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2013

We went with one other couple & we shared 2 delicious appetizers. I also ate the generously sized, perfect white bean soup. The lamb pasta and stuffed pork roll were creative and yummy. I can't say enough about the roasted garlic & olive oil mixture. It's like fine wine to me. We finished off our dinner with pineapple tiramisu. Our waiter, Richard, was very helpful & patient.
