We had stayed at the Carlsbad Seapoint before, nice resort. The unit we were in #226 is starting to show wear from all the careless people who have stayed there before.
Close to beach, a ton of chairs, umbrellas and bougy boards to us for free. Nice.
All the rooms have anywhere from a 40 to 26in LCD TV and DVD player in them.
The staff were great. You can bring your dog, but it wil cost extra.

Room Tip: Reserve a 2nd or 3rd story unit for a nice ocean view, 1st floor is limited

Thank you for your review. All of our Guests will be happy to hear that management is currently assessing a design for new living room furniture as well as other items. This design will offer a relaxed beach feel to the unit interiors which will accent our location and friendly staff. Please note, that Seapointe is not pet friendly. While our staff does love animals, we do not allow them at the Resort. We look forward to welcoming you back upon your next visit.

Best,
Mandi Weigel

We have been to Seapointe before, and it always feels like we are coming home. The resort is big enough to have lots of activities, and small enough to get to know staff and other guests alike. Unlike some resorts, you are not charged for each little activity. There are some fee based items, but many are free.
The staff is responsive and curteous, from the front desk to maintenance to housekeeping. Requests are handled immediately. The grounds are lovely, with basketball, volleyball, tennis, bbq's, a family pool and water play area, adult pool, water aerobics, and much more. Want to go across the street to the beach? They've got beach chairs and wagons. Watch a movie? They're at the Activities Desk. Play pool or table tennis? No problem.

We have been to many resorts over the years, and by far, Seapointe is our favorite. We will be back as often as possible!

We were very happy with our stay at the SeaPoint in Carlsbad. While there, we took in SeaWorld, outlet shopping, strolls along the ocean at Pelican Point and hours and hours in the pool, gym, tennis and basketball courts. We had a beautifully laid out two bedroom suite with a large kitchen and two large on-suite bathrooms. The gym was very clean and well-equipped. The concierge had great ideas for day trips and attractions. Ocean panoramic view, also overlooking the pool, so easy to keep track of the kids.
Very friendly and efficient cleaning staff. Near Costco to shop for groceries and refreshments, and dozens of great restaurants if you didn't feel like cooking.

Room Tip: We had a perfect room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool and ocean. Secure underground parking.

We have vacationed in over 7 different resorts over the years in the San Diego area and this Carlsbad Seapointe has got to be the best we have been to so far. The location, amenities, beautiful grounds, friendly service and fun activies made our stay just incredible. We really hope to get the opportunity to stay again at this very resort. The views out our 3rd floor balcony reminded us of Hawaii. We enjoyed the stay completely.

Room Tip: The second or third floors have a better view potential

Had a great time at this resort... all of the good notes on this resort are true and would definitely stay here again. Couple of notes worth mentioning: 1) liked the somewhat heated pool... would have been too cool otherwise. 2) loved the bedroom bed... VERY comfortable sleeping 3) great housekeeping and very clean towels and linens; and 4) LOVED the ocean view... sitting on the balcony as the sun set was awesome. My only gripe was that the bedroom was pretty small... normally would bother me since we're always out and about but the bathroom door kept hitting the bed and was hard to open/shut. But that was the extent of the "bad".

As for location, it was perfect... 1.1 hours to Disney; 30 minutes to La Jolla; 5 minutes to Legoland; <30 minutes to the Zoo... great hub to stay away from the city chaos and yet be close to our destinations.

We stayed in a 2 BR for a week. Our kids are older, 15 and 18, so we were looking primarily for an enjoyable place for some downtime, good amenties and eating close by, and a nice clean place. Seapointe Resort scores well on all points. The staff is very considerate, and plentiful without being overbearing. The adult pool was excellent - clean, quiet and just a lovely place to hang out and read. And the hot tub was a nice plus, as was the view of the ocean from the pool deck.

My only negative is that sound seems to travel within this complex. If someone is talking on their porch several units away, they may as well be sitting in your room with you. Several mornings kids were up early (well before 7 AM) and it got rather loud fairly quickly. If you are looking for true solitude, keep in mind this is a family place and may involve some early risers Not a bad thing, but not a quiet getaway either. (And the weather is so mild that we had our windows open almost all the time.)

A few considerations potential visitors may wish to consider:

a. Although the beach is across the street, there is a campground in thge way which requries a walk of several hundred yards down the road. This is not a simple matter of walking a block onto the beach with your beach chair. If you are pushing strollers and such, it's not entirely covenient. So if you are looking for prime beach time, this particular beach is not great, although there are nice beaches within driving distance (a mile or so in either direction).

b. The train is not really an issue, but when that whistle blows it is really loud. THe first few times you hear it can be jarring, but it passes quickly.

c. The local eateries are excellent, and run the range from diners to highly upscale. The town of Carlsbad has dozens of solid choices, and is not overly touristy as well. We have good success for breakfast at the Daily News Cafe. Parking was not much of an issue.

d. ALthough there are lots of "activities", I only saw one ping pong table, one poool table, one tennis court, etc. So although those things are "available", if it is crowded they may not be available at any given time.

e. There is a Ralph's grocery store about 2 miles away for all the sundries and food you may wish to stock up on.

In short, all the nice things you have read about this resort are true. And Carlsbad is a nice play to spend some time overall.
