“Very colorful scene”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Even though there are acres upon acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers, they are very colorful and it's quite a spectacle. It's also very popular, with busloads of people arriving from downtown San Diego and Los Angeles. Good luck finding parking. I parked next to the Museum of Making Music above the fields and walked down from there.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

This is something to see when the flowers are in bloom. They do one area that is the American flag. It is just beautiful there. Only bad thing..I bought some flowers and they were dead in a day and a half.

“Flowers as far as the eye can see!”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Although there is a limited time of year you can visit the Carlsbad Flower Fields (Spring only), if you are in the area during this time it is well worth the visit. The fields take your breath away. There are acres of rows and rows and rows of extraordinary Ranunculus flowers in different colors -- I couldn't stop taking pictures. Amazing sight. Discovered it by accident -- so glad I did!
There's also a greenhouse and other flowering areas, but the rows of colorful Ranunculus are the stars of this show.

“A Seasonal Beauty!”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

If you haven't been here, gotta go! It's beautiful! You don't really have to pay to go in, you can see how beautiful it is from up by the Pacific Palasades hotel. If you haven't been, you must see it!

“Easter Mother-Daughter Getaway”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

If your mother is a flower fanatic like mine, then this is the place to go! I knew my mom liked flowers, but never knew she was so knowledgeable about all the different varieties of flowers. The rows of flowers go on and on for 50 acres, and the fragrance of the fields were so sweet! We especially liked the field of flowers planted in the design of the US flag. We timed it just right (mid April) - they were harvesting the fields in two weeks.
