We visited this wonderful paradise again over Thanksgiving 2013. We stayed at LGI several years before and stayed in Friar Tuck and had one of the best vacation experiences ever (our girls especially loved the Inn's ambassador, Buddy the Cat). However, this time we contacted Betsy to find out whether we could have a very short wedding ceremony in the gardens with just me, my partner of 14 years, our two young daughters, the minister and photographer. They were so accommodating and thoughtful it made our special day even better than we could have expected. The cottage was as comfy and warm as we remembered. Our incoming flight was delayed by almost 8 hours, so we let Betsy know that we would be checking in quite late. When we finally arrived (approximately 10 pm with grumpy 7 and 8 year olds) - we found a plate of cheeses, cold cuts, crackers and a bottle of red and white wine waiting for us. I doubt you would find this level of attention at many other places in Carmel. Breakfast was superb every morning and promptly delivered at the time requested, and not at all as described in other reviews here. If you are looking for pancakes, bacon and eggs as part of your stay - you should look at staying at a chain hotel or somewhere else. Even in winter, the English gardens were incredible. We absolutely love this place and cannot thank them enough for making our stay so special.

Simply Perfect is the best way to describe the Enchanting hideaway called Lincoln Green Inn. We enjoyed a much needed break from the world and found it to be just what we wished for. With Betsy at the helm providing everything and more, to the subtle knock at the door in the morning with warm croissants, to the view of the beautiful gardens, Lincoln Green Inn is the place we can't wait to return to!

My husband and I have stayed at the Lincoln Green Inn twice (May/June 2012 and August 2013): both were multi-night stays. We initially chose the property because it is pet friendly and each cottage has a full kitchen, but we returned (and will again soon) because the setting is magical! We have stayed at more than a half dozen Carmel inns over that past 20 years, but this one truly delivers the quintessential Carmel experience. You really can pretend you're a local or someone who owns a second home in Carmel, and while the room rates and pet fees are not the lowest in the area, we feel they are an exceptional value considering you get a fully furnished cottage with a private outdoor area, all set amidst a classic, well tended English garden. We particularly appreciate being several blocks from the hustle and bustle of Ocean Avenue. If your pooch tends to get over stimulated by all of the excitement in downtown Carmel, this is a perfect way to enjoy everything Carmel has to offer while having a peaceful place to repair to after a busy day of shopping and dining. We have stayed at the Maid Marian cottage and the Little John. While both cottages are delightful, we prefer the lighter, sunny colors of the Little John. If you go for warmer colors and darker woods, you may prefer the Maid Marian. The breakfast that is delivered to your cottage every morning and the late afternoon wine and cheese gathering under the big tree are icing on the cake!

Room Tip: We have stayed at the Maid Marian cottage and the Little John. While both cottages are delightful, w...

Wonderful place, perfect location.
Chalet was clean, tidy and cozy, a magic atmosphere very close to the beach. Owner was very kind and the garden was full of hummingbirds.
Breakfast was very good, coffee was excellent as well as the rest of the food. Privacy was at the top in that place.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Friar Tuck cottage with my pup. I was a little nervous after reading all the glowing reviews, but I can wholeheartedly confirm that the Inn is an absolute delight! Our cottage was roomy, quiet and extremely clean. The towels were fluffy, the linens soft, the bed a dream. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and cookware one could want. I also appreciated the decorative touches that were added; made the cottage feel like home. I loved the well-cared for garden - just gazing out made me feel relaxed. The private patio and garden made our stay even better. I liked that the Inn is about one mile from the downtown area; it was a pleasant walk for my pup and me. Oh - bring a flashlight! You'll need it if your dog has to do their business early morning or in the evening; there are no street lights in Carmel and the Inn prefers that dogs do not use the grounds. The dog-friendly beaches are quite close to the Inn - just a little jaunt and you're there. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. Be sure to book well in advance - this is a popular place! I can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Friar Tuck and Little John are the cottages furthest back. Friar Tuck has a gas fireplace; the other...

For eight years we've been staying at the Lincoln Green Inn for our family vacation with our daughter and two dogs. We have stayed in both Little John and Friar Tuck, both lovely cottages that are clean and beautifully decorated. We love the fact that we can completely move in for the week! The location for us is perfect as we enjoy taking our dogs for long walks around the point each morning and evening. Breakfast is served each morning at the time of our choosing and we enjoy cooking in the well stocked kitchen or barbecuing on the patio each evening after enjoying drinks and appetizers in the charming kitchen. The bed can't be beat--bring a good book because you will never want to get up! Recently the inn has gone through some renovations and it is even more beautiful than before. We simply can't say enough about the Lincoln Green...the grounds and cottages are lovely, clean and well cared for; Betsy and the rest of the caregivers of the property are fabulous and ready to make our stay comfortable. Our family has many wonderful memories of our time at the Lincoln Green and we are already looking forward to our next visit! Thank you to everyone at the Lincoln Green Inn for making our family vacations so special!!

We stayed here with our two miniature dachshunds and all four of us loved the Robin Hood cottage. The fenced in deck and patio were perfect for us and our pups to relax and enjoy the outdoors. We didn't want to leave our hideaway so used the BBQ one night for steaks and dinner in. The kitchen is a good size with a table at the window with a view over the beautifully manicured grounds. It is well stocked with dishes and the coffee was delicious with cream in the refrigerator. The bedroom was plush and the bed so comfy that we didn't want to get up! The living area has pleasing English country decor and a fireplace. It is very convenient to have breakfast delivered to the cottage every morning, but the food is just ok.

The cottage and ground were immaculate and new roofs had recently been installed on the cottages. One could see that the inn is lovingly maintained and upgrades are consistent while keeping the English charm of yesteryear.

The location of the inn is in a lovely neighborhood in the Carmel Point area. We liked being a little removed from the busy "Golden Triangle" section of Carmel. Parking is easy and you are quite close to Carmel beach. This is our new favorite place to stay in Carmel!
