Located at one end of the main road in town and about 2-3 blocks from the beach, the Normandy was a great find! Although dogs are not allowed in this dog friendly town, it is only because of the very senior resident cat. We opted for a room with a fireplace, which was a nice way to end the evening, especially on a chilly, rainy day. The fireplace had the quick start logs so was not gas and not true wood, but still made a cozy atmosphere even though it didn't put off a lot of heat. The room was large and comfortable and even though we were on the 1st floor facing the street, it was quiet. There are small patio tables in various areas, making for a nice place to enjoy a glass of wine or tea outside (when it's not raining). Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available all day in the lobby, along with sherry and cookies in the evenings - nice touch! The breakfast area is small and breakfast simple but adequate.
