We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was nice - We had a view of the pool. I was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Stores and shops and Starbucks are close by (across street). My kids and I walked to the Carmel mission which is down the road about 3/4 mile. Not too bad of a walk. The pool was heated so even though it was April and outdoors the kids were able to go swimming and go in the jacuzzi. The buffet breakfast was average.
Overall a good experience.

We live in the Bay Area and had two couples visiting from Texas. We made a last minute decision to head down to Carmel and were very happy with this moderately priced find! Fun, clean, outdoor fire pit, close to downtown Carmel and PT. Lobos. With no two night minimum, maybe this will get my husband and I down there more often!

Nice hotel, room was well laid out and had a balcony. Staff were professional and friendly, had a pool and a hot tub that we did not use, but they looked nice. Breakfast was included for us, was reasonable, lots of fresh fruit, which was great, along with bacon and eggs. Close enough to downtown, ocean ave (by car), nice Italian restaurant over the car park from the hotel.

Our family was driving from LA to SF, and we decided to stop Carmel for the evening. I found this hotel while driving up highway 101, and booked without seeing first. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and beauty of this little hotel that was nestled behind the highway. The rooms looked newly redecorated, and they were sparkling clean and spacious. The hotel flowers and seating areas were beautiful. My son and I have celiac disease, so the test is always the restaurant. The chef was awesome! We asked questions regarding menu ingredients and the chef came to our table to discuss our specific needs. He then improvised the menu to create beautiful, tasty entrees that we could enjoy. We were so thankful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Room Tip: Good value in Carmel, CA

This is a great property with very reasonable rates for the Monterey peninsula. It's located close to highway 1 and 2 largish sized shopping centers. The property was obviously a Best Western/corporate type property at one point and they've done the place justice by converting the property into giving it more of a boutique feel. It's not a pretentious move by any stretch however. They've done a wonderful job with the grounds and the lobby area. My wife and I have been there a total of 5 times so far. It's a nice quiet property that has a bit of charm and plenty of value for your money. Reasonable rates for an area that practices tourist highway robbery.

The staff have always been courteous and attentive. The rooms are large & very nicely appointed and bathrooms are adequately spacious. Beds to me are just ok but fine probably for most folks. I advise getting a regular king room as any room with a deck is just subtracting from your room's square footage but if you HAVE to have the view... 7 minute drive to downtown Carmel and 15-20 min or so to downtown Monterey. Wifi is decent and it's free. Lovely front area grounds with fire pit

Have kids? Well they will love the nice sized pool and grown-ups will like the large hot-tub to soak in at night. Parking for the most part is fine and there are a number to places to eat in the back of the adjoining shopping center + a decent coffee shop.. An Irish pub has some great grub and they serve I think until midnight.

CVS, Safeway and a gawjus Starbucks are right across the street.

Only real downside can be the live bands they have playing on weekend nights. They can get pretty loud and play late. Fitness room is just meh. Their breakfast buffet is just a step above your chain hotel's selection/quality but worth the modest price upgrade. Bar & property restaurant are nice.

Overall if you're looking for a property that delivers good service and don't mind that it's not smack dab in the middle of Carmel or Monterey downtown then look no further.

Room Tip: Go with their regular King rooms as deck rooms are smaller. Might wanna select a room away from bar...

This hotel far exceeded my expectations of "pet friendly" accomodations. We travel with our dog a lot and we most always end up staying in sub grade level places. We suck it up cuz we have our dog. BUT the Carmel Valley Mission Inn was great, just perfect in every way. Clean rooms, spacious, nice decor, quiet etc. They even have a FREE breakfast buffet which was actually pretty good. Bacon, sausage, french toast (super thick), scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, oatmeal, and array of oatmeal condiments and various baked breads and muffins. PLEASE, this was free!!

The parking was ample, the hotel is right next door to a huge shopping complex that has EVERYTHING. There's another one across the road which has more EVERYTHING. I will definitely return to this hotel in the future, no question.

Room Tip: We had our dog so we may have been in the dog wing. It was ground floor but very niceand also very...

My husband and I and friends have consistently returned to the Carmel Mission Inn for overnights, or weekends away. It is consistently good. The rooms are comfortable and well serviced. Staff is helpful and we always feel well accommodated. The breakfast, offered for a small extra charge with the room, is spectacular. Don't miss this place. It's a great place at a bargain rate.
