“wonderful food, lovely garden area to eat in”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2014

Great tomato kale soup with a monstrously large half sandwich. The soup was well flavored and the bread was chewy French bread. Would order again in a heartbeat. My husband had 1/2 turkey meatloaf sandwich with a cup of soup....Delicious and large enough to share the 1/2 sandwich with me. The garden is lovely and protected enough from the wind that it was comfortable even on a cool sunny day to eat there. Would return if in the area again. Staff was excellent.

“Wonderful Garden Setting; Excellent Meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2013

The Garden Market Cafe is a quaint restaurant on Santa Claus Lane in Carpinteria. The food is quite good, with excellent salads, sandwiches, bakery goods, and coffee. The (outdoors) garden is a wonderful quiet place to dine, with fountains, umbrellas, and shaded patio and arbor seating areas. Birds bathe in the fountains and typically are not a bother, and you can hear the ocean. This is a delightful place for casual dining. There also are numerous nice items to purchase, from hand towels and soaps to larger decorative things.

“Cozy lunch spot ~ Fresh Garden Market Fixins!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2013

I have loved this place since it first opened. The outside patio is beautifully landscaped and peaceful. The new inside seating area adjacent to the kitchen is so cozy! And the wine bar and great selection of reasonably priced wines make this market even better. The food is all so fresh and delicious!! If you like chicken salad, its a MUST TRY.

“Yummy food on the road!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2013

Need a quick bite and a calming place traveling down the 101? Go to the Garden Market Cafe on Santa Claus Lane. Their ravioli Florentine is wonderful. They have a wonderful selection of sandwiches. Good atmosphere and an intriguing selection of gifts!

“Lunch is better, breakfast has inconsistent cooked eggs”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 January 2013

We have eaten here a dozen times. I really like the quiche and the sandwiches are pretty good. The breakfasts, however, have ups and downs. For example, this morning, my poached eggs were pretty much hard, but the over medium eggs for another guest were perfect. That is pretty much how it goes for Garden Market during breakfast.
