“Fun in the Sun at CCBC!!”
Reviewed 18 April 2012

Recently stayed at the CCBC and was very impressed with the overall layout of this clothing optional resort, the cleanliness and the excellent service and helpfulness of the staff.
We hosted an event there so we had all the rooms booked and everyone was very happy with the grounds, the service and their rooms. We will definitely be returning!!

Having had our vacations at CCBC for many years, this time we up graded to a larger Suite.
The Team giving us their usual attention had us feeling at home right away. All that we requested was dealt with quickly, even our request to switch the way the fridge/freezer door opened.
Each visit gets better, fresh exterior paintwork this visit, really brightens up the Resort.
Living in the countryside back home,we appreciate the large areas of well maintained grass and spaciousness of this very friendly resort.

you likely will be.

Looking to enjoy the 'benefits' which this niche of an all-mens' resort offers on their web site, we made reservations for two stays on our recent road trip to southern California; one on the drive out to San Diego, and another on the return leg heading back east.

We weren't disappointed.

We were stunned-

at what the owners & managers endeavor to pass off as anything remotely resembling the appealing resort on their web site, particularly while charging 'resort rates'.

The factual reality is this facility is nothing more than an over blown poorly-maintained bath house where the primary purpose is to make as much profit on the desires of men as possible by minimizing services as much as possible.

Our room smelled dirty, the linen was worn and concerning, the floor and bath room was clearly superficially cleaned periodically, and despite our several requests never was brought up to minimal acceptable standards. The air-conditioners/heater did nothing related to its function. The TV service appeared to be operating on a rabbit ear antenna. The grounds initially appeared orderly and maintained, but again, the standard appear to be merely 'sweeping the dirt under the rug'.

Addressing our concerns to the staff resulted in no corrections and we were directed to 'management' and again absolutely nothing was done, and we were treated rudely and condescendingly as if we were the ones in the wrong for bringing the obviously poor issues to their attention.

We tried to cancel our second reservation which was 3 weeks away, but they suddenly declared they have a no refunds policy, which is not identified anywhere on their web site.

We called our credit card to contest the charge, but was told Cathedral City showed them a copy of their reservation-confirmation email to us stating their no-refund policy.

We did think it is noteworthy their blind no-cancellation policy is tendered after your confirmations are made and charged to your card

We forwarded our received reservation-confirmation email to our card company , which clearly lacked any such statement, but was informed told that Cathedral City said we 'cut & edited" it to remove their no refund policy statement, resulting in our getting charged full rate for not staying the second time three weeks prior trying to cancel our reservations.

If you are looking for the 'benefits' this 'resort' offers', definitely make a room reservation at an any of the numerous other customer-friendly facilities reviewed herein in, and get a day pass at the Cathedral.

We, on the other hand, will not be providing Cathedral City any opportunity to selfishly take money from us again; and, we will be using TRIP ADVISOR religiously here on out for future lodging decisions .

From start to finish, a thoroughly mediocre place. Rooms had ants, granted they were the tiniest ones I've ever seen, but finding ant traps under the bed and in the alcove for clothes was not enticing. Obviously we all go there for 'the benefits' but believe me, pathetic at best. And I am not talking about the people, who were nice, but just as bewildered as I was. The 'sauna' was nothing more than a room with a bedroom heater unit in it---and if you were more than 3 feet from it, you were cold. Hammam was lukewarm and when we finally got steam to start up, it smelled moldy. Signs were posted that we should not bring bags in to the breakfast area--do people steal the sweet 'n low? Just sad sad sad place. We had thought that being out of Warm Sands would mean this was 'out of the ghetto' but in reality, this place is more appropriately, out of the question!

Room Tip: Rooms in a different hotel are better!

This place has horrible word-of-mouth. I’ve stayed here a couple of times. Let me try to bring some perspective. I suspect folks are obsessing on one negative aspect and missing the whole or simply brought the wrong expectations.

This is one of the larger gay male sex oriented resorts in the Palm Springs area. It is in Cathedral City about 15 min drive from downtown PS but you will need a car in PS anyway—even if you are staying at the epicenter of gay PS, Warm Sands.

It is an older, somewhat tired resort. The owners have tried to enliven it but the venue itself and their lack of taste mean that this is not a place that charms you with atmosphere. The water diversions they have added are just tacky. Nevertheless, with some exceptions below it is clean and fairly well kept although room furnishings are a little thread-bare.

This is also one of the more affordable venues.

1. Yes, the desk staff were short, unhelpful and bordering on rude but once I had a key I never had to deal with them again. The housekeeping staff were helpful, pleasant and seemed to do a good job.

2. This is a sex-oriented venue for older gay men. Do not expect to find a young crowd. There also seems to be a preponderance of leather men. There is a sex area that is run down and dirty. I believe, however, that the guys who frequent this place like it that way—in the same way that leather bars tend to be comfortable, non-pretentious and often dirty. The small area for day users is also fairly run-down. The steam room and public toilet are also old and not maintained well.

3. The rooms are clean, functional and while not luxurious entirely adequate and decent value for the money.

4. This is not a place for a romantic get-away with your honey. This is predominately a place for older single gay men to meet others like themselves and have trysts.

5. Avoid the tent option. It’s expensive and not an option if you have any intention of sleeping.

6. They do events, special weekends with entertainment to up the attendance. These “shows” are pathetic. The guests tend to ignore the show making it even more awkward for the various MC’s and drag queens that parade.

7. They have a “dining room” where they occasionally advertise a free lunch. Avoid this. Enough said.

Why come here? You’re an older single gay man looking to meet other older singles—especially if you’re into leather. You want a serious sex oriented venue. You’re on a budget and are looking for a comfortable gay resort that’s affordable.

I have been to CCBC many time over the last few years and have found much improvement each time. The staff has been right on top of things and helpful if I ever needed anything or had questions. The grounds and room has always been well kept and clean. There is something for almost anyone there, from the pools, jacuzzi's steam/sauna rooms. video roomS (4 of them) slingS yes there is more that one. The "nature trails" have always been "fun & interesting" If you are on a pass there are so many areas to just kick back and enjoy. If you have never been I'd say go ahead and see what it's all about. If you are a person who is just not looking to enjoy your self (& others) & have a good time this might not be the place for you
