“A Truly Romantic and Relaxing Weekend!”
Reviewed 22 September 2008

My husband and I just returned from our stay over the weekend at the Sunset Inn. The B&B is very well-maintained. Our suite (Sunset Suite) was fabulous, very spacious - with a sitting room, relaxing two-person jacuzzi in the bathroom, romantic bedroom, and sunny balcony. The staff was helpful and polite. We especially enjoyed the appetizers and wine each evening.

I read all the reviews before selecting the Sunset Inn as I wanted my husband's birthday to be memorable and we were not dissapointed. We had a wonderful time!

I did want to note a few things: the B&B itself is on the main street through town. It's not ocean-front, though it has ocean and pier views. It's about two blocks from the beach. Since we were upstairs, I thought we'd be able to keep our patio door open to hear the surf (which you could hear), but we were worried the street noise would awaken us.

I'm sure you will have as wonderful a stay as we did! It's a perfect spot for a relaxing, romantic weekend.

Excellent stay, unfortunately for only one night since that's all the time we had to sneak away. It's a great place to get away for a weekend since I live within an hour. The Champagne Room was all I expected and more, clean, romantic, the rainshower and the two person tub were both wonderful features. Sitting outside in the evening and enjoying the sounds of the seals was another bonus, since it's not right on the beach I didn't think I would hear the seals or waves but in the evening when the town settles down it was a great place to sit prior to going to bed. Oh the bed was also very comfy and the linens very nice quality. Wine and cheese hour was nice, quiet and relaxing and breakfast was the same and the food was excellent. As far as the town it was nice to stroll the streets, walk on the beach and stop by the local Cayucos Cellers for a wine tasting. I highly recommend the Cass House for dinner, which was recommended by the Inn, it was an outstanding 4 course meal.

The Inn is also a great location to stay and then drive to 46 and head west to hit a few Paso wineries. I had not idea the Paso area has added so many wineries the last several years.

I'll go back and maybe even try one of their other rooms but I don't know ours was excellent.

This is the fourth time we've stayed at the Sunset Inn, and we have never been disappointed. The attention to detail and pride of ownership are obvious, and the sleepy little town is always a welcome escape. We're just worried about too many people discovering Cayucos and the Sunset Inn!

My husband and I stayed at this Inn because we wanted a romantic getaway. We stayed in the Sunset Room and it is absolutely incredible! There is a jacuzzi tub for two and an awesome shower! The milk and cookies are a nice touch and the food is delicious. This place is money well spent. You will not be disappointed in your stay.

Adam and I had an amazing time staying at the Sunset Bed and Breakfast! Judy showed us around and took us to our room – she did a wonderful job introducing us to everything. The breakfast was exquisite - very good food and service! The wine and snacks were great at night - it was very fun to meet the actual maker of the wine that was premiered at the wine tasting! Lisa was great - she took time to speak with us on multiple occurrences - gave us some incite on things to do in the area! The room was beautifully decorated! We really enjoyed every aspect of it ... the balcony had a great view, etc. The Sunset Inn is located in a great place - it was quite but also within walking distance of everything! They have special little things they do such as milk and cookies left at your door every night! They make you feel very special! Plus it is an amazing little town!!
We are definitely going to go back!! :)

Very well managed property with high maintenance standards. Be aware, there is no elevator and most desirable rooms are upstairs.

We celebrated our anniversary at this restful and welcoming B&B. It certainly lived up to its reputation and prior reviews. We stayed in the Paradisio room, which was spacious and with a great deck and view of the sunsets. Located close to great restaurants and a short walking distance to the beach. A very relaxing stay in a charming, informal and wonderfully "sleepy" town, even in the middle of the High season. The Sunset Inn is a good choice in Cayucos...The food at Cass House and Hoppe's are top cabin as well.
