“An amazing find!”

This B&B is a rare gem - it's located within short walking distance (2 blocks or so) from the beach and pier. The exterior is lovely and looks brand new, with lush landscaping (palm trees and trellised vines). The interior is beautiful and clean and homey, but not old fashioned and dated. We stayed in the Lanai room. Our room had an extremely comfortable bed, a built in entertainment center, a fridge, large jacuzzi tub, marble counters, hard wood floors, high ceilings (at least 10 feet) and a ceiling fan. It also had a balcony with a seating area. The decor was beautiful and felt like an expensive resort room. The price was extremely reasonable! The staff was so friendly and accomodating and the other guests were fun. The food was very good and not too much in terms of quantity or heaviness. The cookies and milk are delivered to your door! It was one of the best places I have ever stayed and the town was great! I will be coming back whenever I have a chance. I can't recommend this place enough.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms look like they have an ocean view, but I didn't see for myself. I think ever...

By far the best night in our two weeks in California. Cayucos is a calm charming town, and Sunset Inn is even more charming. Very nice, spacious room. Bedding from Egyptian cotton. A balcony to enjoy the view or coffee. Tasty, homemade breafast with fresh fruit, choice of egg and meat, homemade cupcakes, tea, coffee, juice. The people there makes you feel welcome at all times.

Wish we could have stayed longer, and regret that we didn't arrived earlier.

We had a wedding to attend and they accommodated our early check in.
Our second stay here. Cookies very good, breakfast even better.
Clean comfortable room within walking access to the rest of the town.

We stayed in the sunset suite---it is spacious, new and impeccably clean. A very comfortable bed with the highest quality linens. We slept so well---with the windows open you can hear the ocean and a buoy bell ringing in the distance---so peaceful. Breakfast, wine & cheese time and the night-time cookies are all delicious. The quiches are especially good, however, the portions are a bit small. There is a small grocery next door which made it convenient to get cold teas & juices & snacks. Be sure to walk down the main street and take a peek at the quaint stores and saloons and sample the cookies at the Brown Butter cookie store.

This was my 3rd stay at the Sunset Inn and just as wonderful as the others. The staff are incredible. Sandi and Bonnie, both delightful, friendly and ready to help in any way. They are like family! I've stayed in both the Sunset Suite and the Palais and they are both roomy, clean and beautiful with nice views! Breakfasts are absolutely delicious, with large portions. Scones the best I've ever had. Overall, its a wonderful place to stay and I'll keep coming back!

My husband and I got married on Sunday, April 27th. After almost 4 days later and after all of the company had gone, we decided to get away for what we called our "minimoon". We only had a few days and wanted to enjoy them somewhere special. We decided to drive up to a little town called Cayucos that looked interesting and was right on the beach. So, my husband looked up places to stay and thought that the Cayucos Sunset Inn looked interesting. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Bonnie, who was warm and generally happy that we had arrived. We were then escorted to our room via the stairs and when we got to our door, were less than thrilled when our entry was overlooking the parking lot. Much to our surprise though, we entered our room and it was huge! It had a beautiful sitting room with a fireplace and television and then down a nice, long hallway was a beautiful Jacuzzi bathtub in the bathroom and a large and beautiful bedroom. That bedroom I might add, had a wonderful porch that overlooked the town of Cayucos and the ocean. Our breakfast the next morning was fabulous and Priscilla was the most wonderful server with the sweetest personality and the gal who also served named Erica was not only personable, but turned out to be very helpful throughout our stay. As a nice surprise also, when we arrived home in the evening after a full day of gallivanting about the area, we came home to milk and homemade cookies at our door. A nice way to finish off an amazing day, All in all, the food was fabulous, the room exceeding our expectations and the staff truly the best we've experienced in a very long time. I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone as a memorable and beautiful experience not to be forgotten!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Bali room and it was beautiful!
