A superb example of classical design that has been well restored only recently. The frescos are mainly fragments but give a feeling for how the villa would have looked. There is a attractive cafeteria with outside seats for when the weather allows and a shop selling wine from the estate. An added bonus if you are British and a member of the National Trust, is you get in for free.

We stumbled across this villa as we were driving to another destination and decided to stop for a visit. The villa and its grounds are absolutely lovely. The inside of the villa is attractively decorated and furnished, and is kept in very good condition. The grounds are appealing. Do the take the time to have a look at the grounds of the villa. The cafe is a must. It was a lovely day when we visited, and we drank our coffee and ate our crostata at a table outside overlooking the grounds. The crostata was absolutely delicious. Anna, who rungs the cafe, is charming. She bakes the cakes herself. Anna also provided us with some tips about other things to see in the area. We stayed to do a wine tasting in the shop adjacent to the ticket office and shop. We enjoyed tasting and comparing several local wines. Everyone at the villa was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed Villa dei Vescovi much more than the two more famous villas along the Brenta that we had visited the previous day.

From the site of the villa visitors can enjoy superb views on the surrounding down to Padua. The guided tour of the villa is highly recommended to discover the history and art masterpieces still visible. Worth a walk through the vineyard. The cafe terrace is a unique vantage point where to relax and enjoy some local produce. Members of the National Trust for England, Wales and Northern Ireland benefit from free visiting arrangements. Staff is very kind and helpful.

For those who appreciate history, art and architecture, Villa Dei Vescovi is well worth the effort to find this amazing place tucked into the Eugene hills. The staff are incredibly helpful and wanting to share their enthusiasm for this property with guests. The scenery is beautiful and offers the perfect spot to picnic. Vineyards dot the hill side, and the church bell next to the Villa offers fairly continuous chimes.
