How this place expects to attract customers I will never know.

This is a 35-40yr old building in a very busy/noisy spot that is dingy even after a recent reno/update. I mean please...

Don't believe the web site. This looks like a building Red Lion abandoned. This must be the cash-cow that the corporation cannot afford to shut down long enough to refurbish properly. They retained the stinky, dirty old carpets! They put in new doors but failed to make them fit properly and set them all to slam whenever allowed to close on their own. Wall paper was cut and pasted, to 'fix' mistakes. Trim in the bathrooms was replaced, but none of the counter tops or bath tubs! Come on people...

This place should have been dozed instead of reno'd.

The staff are top notch and very accommodating. Too bad they have such an inferior property to work with in Chico!

The outdoor pool was a nice feature for a summer visit and one that attracted me to this hotel.

Very best option in Chico. Friendly helpful staff, spotlessly clean everywhere you look. Modern and comfortable accommodations. We stayed in an Executive Suite. Breakfast is included in the hotel breakfast room as is evening wine, beer and nibbles at the evening cocktail hour. A bit further south of old downtown Chico and the University...but it is a quick hop on the 99 freeway. This place will not disappoint. I am a travel agent and believe me, we are a picky lot!

We stayed here as a stop off for the Sierra Nevada Brewery on our honeymoon. I wasn't expecting too much but hoped it would be nice.
On arrival, we found that we'd been upgraded to a Jacuzzi suite, which was really lovely of them. The room was really spacious and had a jacuzzi bath in the bedroom-haha! We also had a livingroom area with TV and fridge that could be separated from the bedroom by closing sliding doors.
The breakfast was adequate and comparable with other places. The evning buffet was on the rubbishy side, but it is just intended as a complimentary snack. The free glasses of wine/beer went down a treat too and were actually really nice!
The pool area was small but really quiet and lovely for relaxing in the sun.
If you're in the area, I'd definitely suggest a trip to the Sierra Nevada Brewery-it was great.
In all, I've given this place 5 starts because of the reasonable price, combined with all the positives!

Our racing team have been coming to Chico, CA to race at the Silver Dollar Speedway for the past three years. We visit there 3 -4 times a year and have stayed at the Oxford Suites. On our first stay, I was put in touch with one of the Sales Managers, Sandra Sims. Sandra has taken such good care of us on all of our visits. She came to visit with us on several occasions in the dinning area to see if all was okay. If Sandra was not available at any time, other Sales Associates in her office would reply to my e-mail request. She is fantastic and such a great representaion for the Oxford Suites. The accomodations are fantastic and the complimentary breakfast is great. All of the staff there from check-in to housekeeping are fantastic.

We were visiting friends in a nearby town and needed a place to stay for one night. We have never been to Chico and did not know what to expect. When we arrived, it was very hot and we had been in the car for several hours and were welcomed by a beautiful and air conditioned lobby. The clerk was not rude, but certainly could have been a little more personable. We have no complaints about the room. It was spacious and nicely decorated. I loved the counter area outside the bathroom. (which was also nice) There was more than enough room for . There was a couch, table etc. The bed and pillows were very, very comfortable. If you needed to spend more than one evening, you would not feel cramped by any means. The hot breakfast was okay. We did not have time to use the pool or other extras. Many resteraunts in the area to choose from. We ate at Red Lobster. We would suggest the other resteraunts, as our experience was not good at all. But the hotel? Thumbs up!

We booked this hotel on the reviews from trip advisor and were glad we did. The staff were friendly and helpful, one even giving us his mobile number in case we got lost going to the playground he mapped out for us. The kids (ok and me) loved the cookies on the front desk. The outside pool was nice. The room was great for the price, it was great to have the doors between the bedroom and the lounge that could be pulled closed so the kids could be put to bed and we could enjoy some adult time. It was clean and nicely decorated. We promptly booked a stay for the Oxford Suites in Portland, which also was exceptional.

We stayed at Oxford Suites for the evening to attend a Christmas party. We stayed in an beautiful executive suite room. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was enjoyable. The hotel staff was first class, friendly, and very helpful especially the hotel sales manager Mrs. Sim.

We definately would stay again and look forward to our next visit. We also are recommending Oxford Suites to all of our business customers and visitors.
