Started camping here on Memorial Day weekends 10 years ago. Now it's our go to rv park when it's too hot to camp out at Glamis. We are packing up the motorhome now for Labor Day and this will be our third stay at Chula Vista RV Park this year. Because we typically go on holiday weekends, was very surprised during our one week stay this July at how different the park feels compared to the busyness as on holiday weekends. Although the park was super crowded with campers (had to move twice during our one week stay because we booked so soon to our stay), the pool was not crowded and very few families out riding bikes and enjoying the outdoors and campground during the evening. We're used to needing to get to the pool early to claim a lounge chair and the pool full of kids having a good time.

The activities they have for families on holiday weekends are always fun. The restaurant down the street at the marina is great. The area has good sidewalks and grassy areas to enjoy. Overall it's a quality rv park and I recommend to all.

Ok, I don’t like giving bad reviews so I will just say this place is aimed more towards the retired couple. It’s a very quiet campground with A LOT of rules!

Even though they say dog friendly, it’s far from a dog friendly place, although they do have two small (8x8) dog runs that have fake grass – other than that you are not allowed to have your dog ANYWHERE else including walking in the grass

The staff was grumpy at check-in and the place just seemed like a place you should whisper.

I will end on a good note by saying this is a very clean place and seemed well maintained.

We've been coming here for about five years and just love it. It's right on the bay, has an excellent office staff, is spotlessly clean (both the grounds and the "facilities") and beautiful (lots of flowers). The pool area is spotless and inviting. Check out the bulletin boards for announcements about ice cream socials, adult bingo, art classes, etc. You can choose to get involved or not. There's so much to do just a short drive away: Coronado Island, the Gaslamp District, LIttle Italy, Seaport Village, Balboa Park, etc. As for the price, it keeps inching up every year, but it's on par with other resorts. And yes, it can get crowded with kids in the summer and holiday times, so if that bothers you, go off season and/or weekdays if you can. Final note: if you do notice something amiss, just go to the front desk. They've always been gracious and quickly handled any problem we might have had.

Room Tip: Bayview sites are nice, but they can be quite noisy on weekends and holidays due to the adjacent par...

We really expected this to be the best park we have visited. Unfortunately, the rules are not enforced and on a holiday weekend there are loads of kids on bikes, skateboards and scooters, riding on sidewalks and through empty sites.
One of our neighbors had a motorhome that looked as if it hadn't been washed in years. He had an old beater truck that he had to climb through the window to get into AND he had 4 small dogs.
One weekend they allowed a tenant to have a "flea market" in their site for 3 days. It was all junk and didn't do much for the ambience.
The staff is great. Great gift shop/market with reasonable prices. Groundspeople are very friendly, security not so much.
Bathrooms are clean and well stocked though they renovated 2 ladies rooms which required removing the windows that provided light and air. Now they are hot, humid and quite dark. If you turn on the lights a heater comes on which doesn't make it very comfortable on warm days.

Room Tip: The bay view sites are gorgeous! All sites are level with hedges separating the sites. Wifi is Tengo...

From the sounds of it, you weren't completely blown away by your recent visits, and we definitely appreciate you letting us know. Holiday weekends do get a little hectic around here, so I hope you'll accept my apologies that we weren't able to monitor the grounds as well as we would've liked to. As far as your neighbors go, we think the assortment of people that come and use our park just add to the charm of our location! I'm sorry if you felt that they took away from your experience at all. I really thank you for your feedback, and know that we take it all very seriously. Look forward to having you back in the future -- drive safe out there!

Spent a week here in our camper. Back in site was plenty big. Sites are level concrete with all hookups. There is a small picnic table on the site. The do have some pull throughs. We came with out club and the staff was great to work with. Always maintenance people cleaning and sprucing up. They are very available for our club needs. Tuesdays they always have happy hour and Saturday morning coffee and OJ with donuts to purchase. We were here the weekend it was unseasonable hot so I found the internet dropping me frequently. But sitting in the pool area (which is now expanded) there was a great breeze.

Pool area well maintained and clean. Office staff very pleasant and helpful. This is a popular park so they ARE busy.

I really enjoyed walking along the path by the bay. People are friendly and there is a lot of places where kids were walking and playing. Just remember you must get a key to be able to get back in the gate.

There are several bathroom areas. The one closest to us was nice and the showers were fine. I didn't run out of hot water.

Room Tip: We were in 193 which was right in the middle of the park. No special view, and it was next to the wa...

Very friendly. Very clean. Great views from the bay view spots. Dog friendly. Reasonable pricing. Nice pool with family style gliders all around the park. Clean bathrooms. Only draw back was no fire pits. Looks like most of the regulars use a propane faux fire.

The staff was cheerful and friendly. The pads are level and clean. We had a Bayview and a Premium site. Both sites were great and the view is great. Walking along the bay as well as the marina. Peaceful. Clean. Dog friendly as much as CA allows. They have three doggie areas.
