“Best Birthday in years”
Reviewed 17 May 2013

I was fortunate enough to stay in the Montrachet suite for my birthday. It was all we expected and more. Had dinner at a little Thai place followed by a lovely soak in the tub overlooking the vineyard while sipping on a great wine. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful. Thank you Roxanne for the best Gluten free breakfast I have ever had. Even if you can't find the time to get away right now do yourself a favor and check out the web site. I made several of the dishes for a brunch and they were all well received. We checked out the Big Dog winery that was recommended and even though the ride up the mountain scared the crap out of me the wine was worth it as was the tour. Still have a couple of bottles from the case we bought. Every time we break out a bottle we remember our romantic trip and the thoughtfulness of our wonderful host Roxanne. Two days were not enough, this is a great jumping off point for so many wineries. Looking forward to our next visit, just hope I don't have to wait till my next birthday.

Loved it. We did the Montrachet suite which was amazing. The 2 person tub is awesome, sheets are unbelievably soft - it's really a beautiful room. Food was amazing, people were great. We were not sorry for booking in Cloverdale - it's a bit further than some of the other B&Bs we were looking at but we found the location wonderful - idyllic view, quiet and peaceful but close to a tons of wineries and you're a 15 minute drive to Healdsburg so you can easily get in your high-end dining if that's what you're after. We thoroughly recommend this place and will stay there again next time.

We have been coming regularly to this B&B since 2006 as it holds fond memories for us. We have nearly always chosen the Laura/Lorraine bedroom + bathroom room pairing, as we love the Laura Bathroom and the Victorian charm of both rooms. When the Shelford House changed owners and became Auberge on the Vineyard, some of the decor in the Victorian House started to charge. Personally, we love(d) the beautiful floral wallpaper and ornate decorations, much of which has been replaced by modern paint in the main house. The breakfast food continues to be excellent, although sometimes dietary requests are forgotten. We miss the Keurig in the main house for hot coffee or tea to taste at any time of day or night. Roxanne is an entertaining and friendly owner and hostess with an eye for quality.

Room Tip: Read the room descriptions and find your best fit.

We have enjoyed our two day stay at Auberge on the Vineyard so much. Roxanne, the owner is so personable and can she cook!! GREAT breakfasts, you will not need lunch on the days you stay here. It's fun to sit around a big table and meet the other guest who are always so friendly. We stayed in the Montrachet Suite, every amenity you may need is there!! The pillows are amazing; I went on the internet after the first night to order two for my husband and I. Make sure while you visit that you go to 'Bob Dog' winery, Roxanne will give you directions. We will definitely come back here when we return to Sonoma. Oh, and Roxanne has great toilet paper in the rooms also, not the icky cheap stuff!!!

Room Tip: Montrachet Suite is large and downstairs in the Carriage House, only drawback is that you might have...

6 of us occupied three rooms last weekend at this great B&B. I will just echo what everyone else has said, the food is good, the accommodations are good. I am not a B&B person, but we luckily had picked the Vouvray room in the Carriage House. Upstairs in the Carriage House, there are three separate bedrooms, with a communal living room. I loved the Vouvray room, it was a nice mix of feeling like I was staying in a hotel room, but having the advantage of the breakfast and communal areas to hang out with my friends. My friends occupied two bedrooms in the main house. Another option would have been to have booked all three rooms in either the house or the carriage house so we felt like we had the house to ourselves. I would highly recommend it ! Cloverdale is a quiet town, but close enough to Dry Creek and Alexander Valley to spend the day wine tasting, then kick back in the evening enjoying the peace and quiet. Beautiful views from the numerous porches, but bring your bug spray !

Room Tip: Carriage house if you want a more modern feel to your room and not the typical B&B

Well it started out to be using a "coupon" before it expired..and low and behold we found a gem! Roxanne the inn keeper greated us with such a warm and friendly welcome! The B&B was very clean and beautiful views with a lovely porch!

Food was excellent..a little too much food and I felt bad not eating it all.

Living in California we forget all there is to see. This is one place you do not want to miss. Great wineries and great restaurants..enjoy!

Room Tip: Remember to close the windows at night..they are sound proof!

Our experience at Auberge on the Vineyard was superb. Roxanne the innkeeper, cook and baker extraordinare, and the friendliest B&B owner we've ever encountered made the experience extra special. She is very knowledgable about the area and helped us find superb restaurants and vineyards, while entertaining us with her wonderful sense of humor.
Wonderful pastries were awaiting us when we returned after a day of touring. All of her food is worthy of a cookbook with her wonderful recipes. The 5 days were a total delight: a bonus. If you pay for 4 nights, the 5th night is free!
