Quietly nestled in the hills of Sonoma wine country, The Old Crocker Inn offered us the rare combination of rustic charm and turn-of-the-century elegance. The surroundings are scenic, breakfast a gourmet's delight, and its beautifully appointed rooms reflect thoughtful attention to detail.
Our family arrived during the holidays and was immediately made welcome by the inn's gracious and festive ambiance. Decorated with interesting antiques and memorabilia, the central ranch house's dining area overlooks the peaceful countryside. Cozy corners and a fireplace provide perfect spots for reading, chatting and simply relaxing.
While all accommodations are lovely, each is unique. Ours was the Canton Room, a private cottage combining Victorian style with Asian flair. It brimmed with creature comforts, from jacuzzi tub, television and gas fireplace to chocolates, fresh flowers and a luxuriously comfortable four poster bed.
As for breakfast, innkeepers Marcia and Tony Babb are masters at whipping up delicious three course feasts which vary everyday! They also gave good advice about local activities, restaurants and wineries, some of which we sampled and thoroughly enjoyed. Afternoons saw us making our way back to the ranch house for Marcia's cake-made-from-scratch, coffee and fine array of tea.
The Inn''s layout made if possible for us to enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere without sacrificing the tranquility of a private get-away. It also provides a marvelous setting for weddings, reunions, corporate retreats and seminars.
We are definitely going back, and highly recommend The Old Crocker Inn.More
