I am not a huge fan of B&Bs so am not factoring this into my review, as this place is top notch.

The location is beautiful, a few miles from Colfax up in the hills; like a sanctuary in peace and tranquility.

The house is huge and was built to be a B&B. We were a group of 5 and rented 3 rooms, with all of them being nicely appointed. Very good mattress in our bed, and a small but nice bathroom. Good products available in refillable containers.

Our room looked out onto the huge lawn area (pond to the left) and we had our windows wide open the whole time to enjoy the fresh air. The temperature there was perfect while it was much hotter in Colfax. Wonderful views from the property, many trees and just a large, park-like garden.

They have a few chicken in a coop but I only heard the rooster around 8:00 AM (somebody said they hear it at night).

We got to hang out on the lawn a lot and enjoy the scenery, which I highly recommend.

There is a pool room with TV and a fridge with free waters. Also wine and glasses.

The breakfast was fabulous. Freshly cooked with OJ and coffee in unlimited quantities. We paid about $150 per room (different rooms have different prices), which was a really great value.

If you like quite, clean and peaceful, this is your place.

The Inn is located on a beautiful rise with wonderful views. There is a pond and acres to walk, a hammock to rest in or read in (or sleep!). But the location is a wonderful place to explore. The hosts were very friendly and have provided a wonderful experience. The place looked and sounded so good that we decided to book two nights rather than move on; I'm so glad we did.

Room Tip: This is a B&B Inn; there is a hot tub which was terrific. All the rooms have a view and there i...

We have often zipped by the Colfax/Weimer Crossroads exit heading from home to Sacramento or San Francisco or back. Wanting to explore the Sierra backroads, south of I-80, West of Lake Tahoe, East of Highway 49 and North of Highway 50, we found lodging here. Set at the top of a hill, with panoramic views, it was a perfect spot to sit and watch the sun go down while sipping our wine. Walk around the pool and watch tadpoles and Koi swimming about.
We had a great day exploring some lakes, reservoirs, old mining sites and roads. Even found the location of a grove of Sequoias that are only 100 years old. Just enough to want to go back and do it again. Hosts, Guy and Alicia, fixed a fantastic breakfast that fueled us all day. Clean and comfortable. Good place to just relax and not far from Auburn, Grass Valley, Nevada City or even Sacramento and Reno if you want a quiet get away.

Room Tip: Two rooms share a bath. Fine for a family but host says first booking gets the bathroom and the alt...

We considered ourselves fortunate to find this hidden gem. The property is amazing, there is nothing like sitting quietly by the pond watching the deer come out of the woods for a drink. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed. This is a truly amazing place and we look forward to returning for an escape from the day to day hustle and bustle.

This is a great retreat. Easy to get to and close to a lot of outside activity. The rooms are large and everything is updated and very clean. In addition to the nicely appointed room, the room included a very very nice breakfast that is as good as and first class San Francisco hotel. The owners are very friendly and bend backwards to make sure any special requests are taken care of. A very good value for the money and hope to be back soon.

My new wife and I stayed at this B&B the night we got legally married. The inn was very clean and spacious, and located on a fantastic piece of property. There are killer views everywhere you look. Our room was on the corner overlooking the pond. With the full moon that night, it was a cool backdrop. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast the next morning was delicious. The owners were very polite and hospitable. It's a great, overnight getaway spot if you're looking for a local retreat.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Sundance room.

This bed and breakfast is beautiful. It is set on a huge piece of property up at the top of a hill, boasting views of a lushly landscaped yard and mountains covered in beautiful trees in the distance. The whole facility was meticulously cared for and the hosts were very warm and welcoming. My husband and I had a great Mother's Day weekend.
