“Attentive Service and Good Food”
Reviewed 24 January 2014

The servers were very attentive and did a good job of helping us select our entrees based on what we were looking for. The food was good and the portion sizes adequate. If you are looking for Italian in the Concord area this is a good choice.

“Great Meal for 8, After Last Minute Reservations”
Reviewed 19 January 2014

I called for reservations at 5PM for a reservation at 6:30 on a Saturday night, for 6 adults, one four-year old, and an infant. They accommodated us and we found a special table set up when we arrived. I would say that the restaurant is kid-friendly. The owners are Miriam and Yousef El Jacifi. The lovely Miriam took great care of us, taking our orders personally and making sure the wait staff attended every need. The menu prices were quite reasonable, running $16-20 for the (a la carte) entrees. We had the bruscheta and calamari appetizers, which were delicious. I had the lamb shanks, which were also delicious, and the portions were large. I also liked the roasted vegetables which came with the lamb shanks. At the end of the meal, everyone had completely cleaned their plates, so kudos to the chef Habib El Jacifi. We also enjoyed the zinfandel and the sangiovese red wines. There was a piano player; I had hoped for a softer George Winston-like sound, but he was quite a bit louder than that. His selection of music was good though.

“good service but food is just okay/good”
Reviewed 24 December 2013

The service was good, the atmosphere and decor good, nice ambiance, presentation of food was excellent but the food was mostly just okay/good. We had the pommes frites (fries were so-so, dipping sauce was excellent), fried calamari (good), carpaccio (good), caesar salad (decent), lamb shank (good), fettuccine alfredo (okay), paella (okay), steak (good), tiramisu (okay), chocolate mouse with hazelnut custard sauce (good), sorbet (excellent).

“Excellent food and great prices!”
Reviewed 13 December 2013

Don't let the outside fool you or it's location at the Corner of Contra Costa Blvd by Sun Valley Mall, this is a great little find. Interior is so unexpected. Nice bar area, back room for private parties and a great restaurant area. I have been here several times at the recommendation of friends in the area and loved it. I've now been four times and each time tried something different and it was excellent. I highly recommend it for brunch, lunch, dinner or happy hour.

“Really Good Chicken Picatta”
Reviewed 21 November 2013

While traveling on business I decided to give this place a try. The service was excellent, even though my order was wrong they took care of it right away. I had the chicken picatta with fettucini pasta on the side. The chicken was grilled rather than dipped and fried, but a welcome change from the norm. Everything tasted great.
