Very good food - not just a truck stop. Menu extensive in addition to buffet. Seating separate for truckers and other clients.

The best thing about this meal was that the salad was cold and crisp. Beyond that, everything was down hill, FAR downhill. The salad bar needed clean-up as there were cross-contaminations from one item to the next. The atmosphere was non existent and the facility wasn't what you would call sparking clean, under our table was a used dinner napkin. We both had spaghetti for dinner. How can you wreck spaghetti? The sauce tasted like it was straight from the can, microwaved and poured on top of the noodles. No seasoning, just paste and gritty ground meat. The noodles actually tasted like soap and were starchy. What should have taken moments to prepare took almost 30 minutes. The toasted bread was nothing more than a thick piece of toast that was grilled with what tasted like old grease. Needless to say we didn't eat much of anything except the salad. To get an indication of what concern the restaurant had with their meal, we were not asked once "how is everything", not even when paying the bill were we asked! Move on and select another place to eat or expect very little.

Best Western highly recommended the Iron Skillet and what a great meal. It is a truck stop and if truckers stop to eat, you know it will be good. The service was great, food great and good prices. They gave a discount if you show your room key at the Best Western.

The Iron Skillet in Corning is a great choice for breakfast. The restaurant is clean and inviting, the service is friendly and efficient and the chicken fried steak is superb. There is enough food on one plate to satisfy two hungry seniors.

The food is good and the price is not bad. Service is fast and friendly. The buffet offers a good selection. It is a truck stop restaurant. They rely on return business and so the food must stay good for a reasonable price. There were plenty of customers which is a good sign.
