Description: Established in 2002, Coronado's locally owned and family operated Village Pizzeria offers an authentic slice of New York City in the heart of beautiful Coronado, California. Using only the freshest ingredients, Village Pizzeria prides itself on going to great lengths to preserve the integrity of the iconic New York style pie, down to importing authentic New York water to replicate the perfect thin crust dough. Located just a block away from the Pacific Ocean, the restaurant's original Orange Avenue location provides cozy interior dining and ample outdoor seating, allowing guests to enjoy the coastal vibe of the area. Village Pizzeria's second location opened in 2007, just steps away from the bay, boasting a spacious event-ready patio perfect for any family gathering. With nearly 20 pizzas to choose from, Village Pizzeria also delivers a healthy, tailor-made spin on old-school New York pizzeria offerings. Touting four different crust options for each pizza-original NY-style crust, thin crust, Sicilian style, and gluten free-as well as a variety of specialty pizzas such as "The Billy Goat" a white pie with fresh spinach, roasted red peppers, onions, sun dried tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinaigrette and goat cheese, as well as "The Islander" with Canadian bacon, pineapple, onions and bell peppers. In addition, the restaurant's menu features a variety of made-to-order salads, pastas, calzones, hoagies and desserts.

“Better View”
Reviewed 28 February 2014 via mobile

There are two Village Pizzeria's in Coronado and decided to try this one for the first time because it has a much better view while enjoying a beer. Subtle differences but this one does not seem to take pride in itself as the other. The waitress seemed completely uninterested. The Calamari is a bit gross at both restaurants but the Philly Cheesesteak Rocks!!! Garlic fries are sad at this one but the other Village Pizzeria knows people who order garlic fries LOVE Garlic!!

“Great place to eat at with a beautiful view”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

I like this place. They don't over do it with their food. The pizza is amazing. My pregnant wife and I love to take a bike ride up there and order a pizza and watch the boats go by. I have never had a problem with this place. Its all around a great place. There is also another village pizza by the del, Its view isn't the same but the food is just as good. FYI.. they also put a ton of toppings on their pizza so if you don't eat in it might be a little soft when you get it home. Just ask for them not add so much stuff on top so it isn't as soft. I know that's not a normal problem having to ask a place to put less stuff on a pizza, this is why we like them so much. They also meet ADA laws for people like myself that are disabled, easy to get into the place and sit down also if you are in a wheel chair they have tons of room to wheel around.

“Great Pizza”
Reviewed 25 February 2014

First place we ate at during our stay in Coronado. Service was very friendly, quick, and the pizza was out of this world. The appetizers are great as well. Terrific family-friendly spot!

Another great restaurant within walking distance of the Del. We always get takeout and the Meatball sub is the best!
