We just came back from our 2nd summer weekend at the El Cordova. First off, I will site the positives. The rooms are spacious. They are comfortable. The staff are EXTREMELY helpful. Nick, the front desk manager is a real gem! He is warm, courteous and extremely eager to help. The location is perfect. And, for the most part, the price of the hotel is reasonable. The negatives...Well, the first time we stayed there were 2 roaches in our room and 1 baby roach made it into our luggage for our arrival back home. The noise from the restaurant outside was intolerable and made it quite difficult to sleep. The second stay (this past weekend) was even worse with the noise. The people next door were so loud (slamming doors and shouting all throughout the night) that we resorted to yelling back at them in the middle of the night. The room, while very spacious and no bugs, was not the cleanest (carpets need to be replaced). Overall, we will return to El Cordova but will definitely be calling the front desk to complain of noise if it becomes an issue.
