With lots of families and a very clean beach, it can get packed on good days, but there is enough room for everyone and it is well spread out. Lifeguards are on duty during hours and it is a great place for pictures and to watch the sunset, or even to go surfing or hang out in the water. The beach is a little small though, it is thin, so not much room for sport on the sand.

Biking, hiking surf & sand, what more can you ask for? This sliver of beach is amazing and bring the bikes. adjacent to the 20 mile plus bike trail that starts in Coronado and ends in San Diego

We stayed right on the beach in site 121 and we loved it. I can see how other reviewers would be unhappy with a spot in the middle, but as far as our spot is concerned we we elated. The spots are tight for sure, but when your backyard is a beautiful beach it doesn't really matter. The other campers were friendly and nice.

The waves were perfect for our boys to play in and they were so excited to find a few whole sand dollars. The sound of crashing waves is so soothing my kiddos slept in every day, BONUS!

We will be back very soon!

The beach is in front of the Loews Resort. We plan to return to this stretch of beach, even if we have to stay at an alternative location. The beach seems to be populated with locals, and there are no dogs allowed. I felt like it less commercialized and back to nature.

We live 20 miles aways so we go as often as we can get a site, but it truly is a "parking lot" on the beach. If you are fortunate to get the front row ($65.00 a night), it's great, but the 2nd,3rd, and 4th row are really tight. The only way to make it work is to invite your camper friends and create a compound so you don't feel bad when their table is 3 inches from yours and you can hear them snoring at night! The water and electrical were added recently and are a major plus. No more loud generator all day long!! A lot of people complain about the camp hosts, but for the most part, they are just doing their job. Some of them get a little cranky at times and appear to "profile" certain individuals to pick on. I just wished they would make an 11:00 PM round and re-inforce quiet time. The beach is nice and there are always lots of shells, but the sand is not pleasant at all. In the name of be eccologically prudent, they do not rake the sea weed so it justs sits there looking ugy and drawing lots of flies. So bottom line....go if you really enjoy being close to your fellow campers and don't mind lots of people in a very small space.
