The atmosphere is quaint, if dated, The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. The best part of the meal was the hot fresh bread served before the meal. The food was good, but not outstanding (I could make about a dozen suggestions on how to improve it).

One can always count on the Brigantine for an excellent meal. They have a variety of food on the menu that should please just about anyone. The atmosphere is great, service excellent and the food is good.

Visited while on vacation. Mid day, not too crowed. Served in bar area.
Service was good, food was good.
Hard to selected food for grand kids, but enjoyed what we got

Both the grilled swordfish and battered fish tacos were really good, but I'd recommend the swordfish. Great pico de gallo too. My daughter is a picky eater, so she orders grilled cheese most places. She said theirs was awesome.

We came here on our first night in San Diego - after 3 nights in Vegas we felt the need to experience something much more coastal! We were going to walk past it but the menu tempted us, and though we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table it was worth it. Some of the specials were a little pricey (I had halibut, which cost about $26 but it was a good size fillet) but that is often the case with daily catch-type options. My husband ordered a seafood combo, and was a little disappointed as we weren't aware from either the menu or our waitress that it came battered - but it was still very tasty. I had a lovely sauvignon blanc with my meal as well. All in all a lovely, if busy, restaurant in a very lovely town (city?) near San Diego.
